Getting closer to Christmas--Fa la la.

Slept 12 hours straight last night. Guess I really need it. Am looking forward to 2 weeks off teaching after this week. Plan to sleep, eat, and exercise.

The weather cooperated today so I could go for a walk with my trekking poles. My legs are weak from lack of walking, but it sure felt good to get out.

Did my usual load of laundry--I always do 3 loads on Sundays.

Have a super week.

So hiker...do you think exercise makes you stronger? I used to think that. Was taught that. But my muscles dont seem to react the way they should to exercise any more

I did one more load so all is washed...it will take all night to dry hanging around the house...now only six more days til i have laundry floor done and dryer movd back in

I ate light today and tomorrow is clear fluids only...also stove guys are suppised to hook up stove

I didnt realize how much of my protein source is nuts and seeds til i had to stop them yestetday

Usually doc tells me im squeaky clean on the inside...so hope it happens this time. Hard to understand how they cant see parasites

Its been a long time since ive heard news about kam...i thought they were coming home soon

I just found out my oldest is coming with his wife from 23-26. And my youngest is coming with her husband for two days around new years. I hope storms cooperate

lp--I definitely think exercise makes me stronger. It is harder than when I was younger.

I feel so much better emotionally when I exercise. When I was younger I was addicted to running and racquetball and softball. If I did not exercise every day I did not feel good--exercise was like a drug.

Glad your children are coming for a visit. Hope the weather is good for all us around Christmas. Even though I only have to drive an hour, any amount of snow gets blown and turned to ice here in central Illinois and the roads are treacherous.

So far, the weather has been mild.

Thanks for starting the thread, hiker! I totally fell asleep on that one! Maybe that's because I was awake all night while you were sleeping!!

We had our church choir party after church today. It was fun!

Two of our Sunday School kids came back today. We hadn't seen them in a month. They were taking turns being sick (brother and sister). I asked them if they had missed us as much as we had missed them and the older boy said, "YES! You don't KNOW how much we wanted to come back!"

Made me feel so good! So we read the Bible and talked about John telling everyone about Jesus. Then we made an 11 day Advent calendar. Only 11 more days! EEK!!

Kam is supposed to go back to her apartment tomorrow. I sure hope everything goes well. Prayers would help!!!

I'm off to see the cardiologist tomorrow. Just a follow up on my echocardiogram last month. I would think all is well since they haven't called me earlier than this!

Also saw my GP last week and had some blood work done. Should get results on some of that this week.

Looking forward to dinner guests on Wednesday night and we're going to a Christmas show Friday morning with our pastor. Free tickets are always nice! [Smile]

Kayak... hang in there... hope the next two days go well for you! Glad some of the kids are coming to see you!

lpkayak--glad your procedure is over.

So, Kam is back in her apartment with a new bed. I bet she has a lot of new things to tell us about.

Kids were great at school today--hope they do not get wound up with 3 days left before vacation.

I rode the exercise bike when I got home from work.

Time to fix dinner.

hiker, what kind of bike do you have? I wish I had something like that. maybe one of those step things where your arms moove too.

I have fatigue just walking up 3 steps. makes me mad.

kayak, I hope your wait goes quickly for you, and I so glad the procedure went without complications.

I just dropped daughter at work.

last night my sister picked me and my sonny up to go see White Christmas sing-a-long at the theatre last night. it was fun. I think my kid was traumatized, hahahaaaa. he sat with his 16 yo cousin. they probably slept through parts.

I have tons of errands today.

returning stuff to the craft store I didn't use. I need Christmas money.

Lisa--I have a thrift store bike. I bought it used for $10. It has the arms that move as you pedal. Can't remember its official name. It does have a timer on it, but no settings to change whether you go up a hill etc. Basic.

I bought a rowing machine at the same place for $5. I need to use it more.

I was not patient at school today. Am ready for a break.

Biked for 20 minutes when I got home.

We are writing narrative poems in my Language Arts class (7th grade), so when they challenged me to do one as they worked (and yakked too much),

this is what I came up with in my 5 minute time. While it is not a true story--it may come true soon. [Eek!]

TAPED

'Twas nearing Christmas and
my Language Arts class, excited
for the holidays could not keep their
lips from moving.

I, the veteran teacher, was at
my wits end about to pull my hair out
with frustration.
"Quiet" was a word I repeatedly used,
but a few ignored me like I was a rock in the corner.

I whipped out the tape. "Should I use clear or masking tape?"
I mumbled to myself.
"Masking tape it shall be," I determined.
Walking over to the offending student
I broke off a piece of the stickiness
and sealed it over her mouth like a Tupperware lid on a bowl.

The effect was instantaneous.
Silence reigned in the room
as aghast eyes stared at me in amazement.
I smiled with bliss.
Mission accomplished.

I took a pudding over to the neighbors that helped me so much the night before the procedure

still I think I'm just depressed I don't really know why a little dizzy maybe that's left over sedation I did some stuff today but not as much as needs to get done

The stove guys charged me almost twice what the estimate was

Health insurance wont pay for test doc ordered cuz he put wrong code

So many things. I dont know why im so tired and so unable to take care of this stuff

Hiker .. That was hilarious! Did you read it to them?

Kayak .. hang in there and be patient with yourself!

The doctor's office can resubmit the code. Make sure they do that for you!

Got to exercise today after going to the store, picked up some farm fresh eggs from my health coach and then cooked dinner for friends. That's the first time I've done that in years! It was really fun and I'm so happy to have some new friends (from church.)

It's raining and cold here .. but no freezes forecast.

kam is tired but getting help with clearing things out. She gets new carpet soon!

Tutu--I most certainly did read my poem to the kids--put it up on the smartboard for them to see. They laughed. I am glad you got time with new friends (and exercised--I am impressed)

LP---Give yourself time to recover from your procedure and all will fall into place.

Glad tomorrow is Friday--not planning on teaching much, but I do have to get my grades done for the semester.

Dreary here. No precip until next week when ice/snow is forecast. I may travel a day early to beat it all.

I was supposed to get together some stuff that had to be mailed back cuz it was damaged...but i got started with pics. I have had many collage frames in two rooms and tons of pics on phone and computer but havent been able to turn them into pictures and put them in frames

I have been working on that over 12 hrs. I got some finished and have a list of a few different size frames i need...and there is a group of pics being printed for timorrow

I will not be able to do much to entertain kids when they are here but they always get happy looking at pics of everyone

I think some of my depression is cuz after being alone so many holidays it doesnt feel right going back to all the traditions...plys i couldnt possibly cook two big meals in two days and and shoo and wrap etc. Theres no way i can do a tree and i dont want kids to do it and leave it for me to take down...it woud never come down!

So i need to figure out new traditions now that my babies are full fedged adults. The pics are a start. And i will have to make cookies and praline pecans for one couple and they will take some to my grandson

And i ordered a good roast beef cuz theres no way i can do a turkey. I thought of taking them out to dinner but the first two who come want to mostly just hang out. Maybe we ll order a movie or something. Last year mt dil and i were up til 2 talking

I told them i couldnt buy presents...its wierd but is a posituve change to not be alone with the dog on the beach

I love christmas eve service...but not sure if i can do it We ll see.

Im so glad kam is settling in...i dont know why they let them in before carpets were done. And i sure hope the carpets arent like mine was. Its been iver two months and i am finally able to stay in that room for about an hour at a time. But its so much work to empty a room after you have moved back

Im supposed to call worker to finish laundry room but i think i am going to wait til after everyone goes home. He will be unhooking water heater...doing floir...and then hooking it up again. It would be awful if something went wrong and i didnt have hot water the one week of the year i had company

I guess im sleepy enough to go to bed

Tutu...what did you make for supper for the company?

Hiker...glad you have a rest coming up. Around here it wil be rainfor christmas. Will it be rain or snow for you?

Lisa...hope your ok and not doing too much

Ho ho ho!

kayak, sorry you are feeling out of sorts. I can relate. how about a paper tree? cut it out and glue stuff on it, or just draw ornaments?

my sister came to help me decorate, but you are right, all the bins were left and sat there for days and finally someone took them in basement, but when its over I will have to take it all down. [Frown]

today I made kiffels! they turned out so good- first time. I got recipe recently - at my friend's funeral of al lplaces- for traditional hungarian recipe. ym yum . I am already having too many sx come back because of all sugar and gluten I am sure.

I had 3!!!! 3 visitors come today! it was so nice! YAY. really was great. like it used to be for me. three nice friends. ate cookies and chatted.

hiker, that was a funny poem. glad your kids called you out and glad you showed them how it's done!

I need to do ab exercises. I get so fatigued, but I think I could handle abs. I need to motivate myself!

cookies don't help! haha

Kayak.. You do need to just enjoy the fact that they will be there. No one has to have a tree. I have a small 3 footer that is easy to put up and take down. Bought it at Walgreen's... but I had two Christmases where I was unable to do that. We just did without and we survived just fine. [Smile]

Do any of your family members like to play cards or games? I would love to do that myself. I grew up doing that and my husband HATES playing games.

Kayak... We had steak on an indoor grill.. I marinated it. Very tasty! I also made a cornish game hen. It's my new addiction. Yummy.

Also made those new "smashed potatoes" .. have you heard of those? They were a hit. We also had steamed green beans and rolls. I didn't eat any rolls. They brought wine but we didn't open it. Is that bad manners?? I keep worrying about that!

For dessert we had Blue Bell ice cream and WalMart baked cookies. (I didn't have cookies)

Lisa... having friends over is the best! So glad you were able to enjoy that!

Hubby and I went to a Christmas show with our pastor. It was really nice. It was a family of 9 children .. very talented. Sweet singing and funny too! It's actually a family of 13, but 4 of them are married and not in the show.

I didnt sleep well cuz of pain. I am still dizzy a lot during day. Im eating healthy and have kept off half the weught i lost prepping for procedure

Tody my friend came and put some pic frames...7 of themm collage multis...they are in living room and exercise room. I am spending more time in exercise room. The chair is more comfortable and the sun comes in on me

My friend has lyme and uses buhner tea to keep infections down. She lives pretty healrhy too...altho she puts a lot of sygar in coffee. But...she loves to eat and must eat 5 x what i eat and she is a skinny minny(i say that in a good way)...shes just lean and can get chubby aroundvthe middle-she says...but how can it be that someone who eats so much can be normal weight and i can be the size of two ppl

She has a bit of ocd going on...she just really likes evrrything she does to be perfect and im different. I cant be that picky now or i would never do anything...i just need things to work...not look perfect

But with her sorta ocd stuff and with my anxiety being off the charts since before procedure it was a little ruff going at first. I was wondering if i would come here like kam did after her trip and say i didnt know if my friend was my friend. She worked 3 hrs and then we talked forvone so i guess we are still friends but as we both get sicker the friendship is harder

Parts of our personalities are different...anyway

The house is still a mess. Before she came i brought in sux empty totes as nd started to go thru office that is a junk room right now with the bed my kids are sleeping in under all the junk

I got a little done before she came. Then after i ran some errands-most of it picture related....and i ate and will probably sleep in chair for awhile...tomorrow there is much more cleaning and organizing and odds and ends ofvpic stuff. I really love the way it came out in exercise rm,...its more casual....snapshots notwedding pics and stuff

Tutu i know what your saying...i have low expectations...but they do need a bed,...right now they dont have one

I am going to ask them to switch out my shower curtain...my arm.doesnt go high enough

And im.going to try to relearn how to use my ipod

And to help with simple meal...my son always played cards with his dads family

He would think n it wierd to play with me i think...we mostly talk...theres church and music around too....did i tell you our littleopera house is famous

Instead of the stage going up and down our audience chairs go up and down....not too many do that

They are both re as l tired from.work...she just started teaching full time at an inner city scholl that is hard to teach at. We connect over the teaching cuz thats the kind of school i taught in

They will probably take off for half a day...his dads family is a few towns over and he always makes cranberry breads for everyone

Well im yawning....maybe i will sleep better tonight. I still feel sciatica tho. Nite

lymetoo, when someone brings you a bottle of wine it is a gift and it is your choice whether or not you want to open it that day or save it. I read about this in a manners book, haha. I was also wondering.... it said that most people have wine already picked out for their special meal and the wine gift is just that. a gift.

kayak, everyone is difrnt with sx. my mom eats like a huge truck driver and never gains a pinch.

she, like your friend, has to eat a lot to maintain.

I gain from looking at food.

today last kid comes home from college and we will all be here. I am happy to have my chicks all in a row, but it will be loud and crazy which will be draining for sure.

plus we have one car. both girls work over break so that wil be nuts with schedules plus son's activities and mine of course. hubby uses a car from his work but not aloowed for personal use. [Frown]

I have so much to do today.

I wanted to start sewing the PJs I'm making for kids, but not sure i will get to it. I am going shopping while I have car for a few hours this afternoon and hope to finish the last very few, very inexpensive gifts I wanna get for husband.

We wanna get my dad and his dad a little gift- got moms both something under $6.00 if you can believe that! Any ideas???? they are 71 & 81 and neither needs much.

I made more kiffels last night. now I am sick of them! haha. good so I don't eat more.

my lyme brain is bad. people say fog, but mine is just B-L-A-N-K. blank brain. I call it my lyme alzheimers brain. I cannot find my credt/debit card. tore up house looking which helped me clean! but can't find it! ugh

Lisa--hope your shopping was a success.

I did little chores today: Grocery shopping, cooking, vacuuming the car, wrapping presents.

My good intention to exercise turned into a nap.

I needed it, though, so maybe tomorrow I will get in some exercise after my "all girls holiday party in the afternoon."

Off to evening prayer service soon.

still didn't find card.

lymetoo, I thought of checking car too, but then forgot! thanks for reminder.

shopping was half good. I didn't make a list and I forgot lots.

o well.

I helped the owner at the store where a rent a space. there was a huge line when I went in to check on my stuff and I helped him bag things. he was all alone. there is always slow service there because there is usually only one check out person.

he was happy I helped. It made me tired even more. very tiring. I guess my CFS is as lively as I suspected.

Lisa.. Thanks for the info on the wine. I think I've heard that before too, but I felt badly about not opening it. We did mention doing so, but they kind of brushed it off like it didn't matter to them.

They are super nice people. They are from Texas, so we have a stronger bond just starting off!

Hope you find that card!! Check everywhere in your purse too.. .. Pants pockets??

Kayak.. Hope you get everything done that you wanted to. When are they coming?

Hiker.. hope you enjoyed the prayer service tonight!

We had choir rehearsal today and also rehearsed the kids for Christmas Eve. All they have to do is bring the baby Jesus in and put him in the manger. We only have 4 kids in the service. They looked so cute!!

Then we went to my friend's house that I teach Sunday School with. She had sandwiches and hot chocolate and apple cider for us. (I had a salad.)

We had the kids plan a little skit and it was cute. We also made origami cranes. That was interesting. I know it will be a day they will always remember. We have a special group of kids!

Well i did sleep last night because i stayed in recliner all night. It seems its the only way i can get away from right knee and left shoulder pain

And i started to clean up and knew i had to run out for a few things but i got distracted in the garage looking in cgristmas boxes

Next thing i knew i was on a step stool putting red ribbons on the four windows that face the street...i cleaned up a little but in some ways made a bigger mess

Then i started ozone machine -went and did an errand...came back and moved plants and started machine in next room. Etc. I did that three times...but i forgot so much stuff i had to go out fuve different times

And i still have a list for tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the last day for pucking up house and monday is for cleaning cuz they come tuesday. Imnot sure what time but i havecooking to do for gifts...mostly sweets...so house will smell good anyway

I went back to dollar store today to get more frames. I had a coupon that said 5 off if i spend 25. So i carefully found frames and added it up and go to the register and they were all buy one get one free! So i had to go back and find more stuff to get my 5...i did find stuff i really needed so i did pretty well in the shopping dept

I also washed a big quilt at laundry that doesnt fit in machine and talked to my brother in fla for quite awhule

Im tuckered out now. Looking around the house i feel like i should make a pot of coffee and just pull an all nighter...but i wont

Since my insomnia has gotten so bad i get all excited when i get sleepy. I love good sleep so much now

In the middle of the news...most of it about holiday shoppers andtravelers...there was a story about lyme disease numbers being very high this year in maine and nh

Hope everyone has a good week....

Went to a Christmas party this afternoon. Stayed away from the gluten, but not the chocolate.

Came home and rode the exercise bike.

Will head to the dollar store tomorrow for a few things!
