Hi <<<<< LymeNet Family >>>>>,

I was looking up the Presidents complaint/help-line for Vets, seems it wont be ready for at least a bit longer.

TrekC' is in an ongoing battle over disability benefits, among other things.

And recently, on a different matter,he was told VA will not be supplying him testing strips for Diabetes anymore " because you are managing so well"... What???? ... he manages well,by monitoring carefully what he eats, and by testing his blood.

We are still fighting them about his knees, one is not getting better. And he had a heart attack in November, literally in front of Doctors at the VA hospital[he drove himself there],and they did not do anything,or admit the problem.

His civilian Doctor thru 'Choice' program ,is livid,as are we. He had the second attack in her office just before Christmas. She had him rushed to the Hospital.

Now ,he has to have more tests ,because the VA refused to give him the proper medicine and substituted one that is known to cause problems in people with stents.

We have had ENOUGH!!! Lots going on here still, finishing our move, and both of us w/ the heart issues.

We spent the day, with friends who are helping us finish part of the packing. More going on, but I wont explain all right now.

Still fighting on,and not giving up, if any have further ideas of how we can get the VA matters resolved, I'd/we'd appreciate the help greatly!

Thanks for reading this, and any tho'ts y'all may have!

hubbie said he wouldn't take our dog there.

but when he came back from Vietnam, he spent over a year at bethesda. he got the best of care.

seems it's gone downhill from there. dallas is not the best of them. they're the ones that threw away children's Christmas cards and said no carollers, decorations or stuff either.

Hi <<<<< randi' >>>>>,

How are you two doing? And how are you feeling?

We've come across some good caring Doctors, and PT workers for TrekC' at VA. And sadly some really horrible and non-caring ones as well.

Every little thing is a fight to get matters resolved. We really shouldn't have to have Congress persons, Senators, and so on, involved to get proper treatment, and proper disability pay in a timely manner.

It's not a good situation, sadly Ameri-Group Medicaid[ my "insurance"] isn't any better. When all this is finally resolved, I am hoping the VA at least will clean up their act.

We've had friends die, and we feel it is because of the extreme length of time the VA took to take care of some serious matters.

Thanks for your input, rest up when you are able, and don't over strain your neck, back, and shoulder area.

It's really makes me sad and angry that they treat the veterans like this. One of my friends in Houston insists that her husband is treated fairly and there is nothing wrong with the VA.

Well, he must be one of the lucky ones, then.

Have you tried the local American Legion group for contact info?

Hi <<<<< Lymetoo >>>>>,

Unfortunately, *American legion, herein Las Vegas, and up in Idaho, haven't been able to help accomplish much.

*They are mostly kept in the dark, cases get shuffled their way, with long waiting lists to be heard.

We have a Vet friend who was actually treated very well, but is aware, of what is happening to many Veterans, and very angry about it. He stays in touch with us. Too many have not been treated well.

We appreciate the tho'ts,
