April 27, 2018
Excerpts:
. . . Van's Foods is voluntarily recalling approximately 1,584 cases of Van's Gluten Free Waffles . . . . [lot numbers listed]
. . . food retailers in Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin.
The products are being recalled because a limited number of the wrong packaging were used during the production of Van's Belgian Waffles.

- So, they must not be a certified, dedicated gluten-free facility, then. One reason (of many) that this matters so very much. Trust. Consistency.
And it would seem to me that they must not really understand the potential severity of health risks by this kind of incompetence. -

. . . The GFCP is a management system and facility-based certification. This means that the program does not rely solely on product testing to ensure safety,
but examines the entire practices and production process of the facility - from ingredient sourcing to employee training, cleaning practices, cross-contact controls, operational management and, finally, an effective end-to-end testing plan. . . .
