Happy Halloween and welcome to the exercise thread. 🎃

This friendly thread is a place to report your daily exercise and encourage each other to get out and move.

Are you raking leaves, walking, going to the gym, cleaning, or cooking. Everything counts! Or just tell us about your day.

Have a great week! [hi]

AK-I know you head to the big city for your mom’s treatment tomorrow. Praying for a safe trip and for your mom to rebound quickly.

Tutu-how was the OCC packing party?

Watched my local church service on YouTube this morning.

I have been doing little chores around the house today—hard boiling eggs, cleaning the thistle feeders etc. Am waiting for them to dry and I will refill and hang them back up. Have some hungry gold finches.

I went to the library to return and pick up new books to read.

Ordered books online that I donate at Xmas to Star Literacy. Always fun to pick out the titles. I find some childhood favorites and some newer books.

Talked to mom, my brother and my BFF. Lots of lip and vocal cord exercise. [Big Grin]

My landscape guy bailed on me today. He says he will come tomorrow but if he doesn’t what I would like done can wait until spring.

After multiple quotes on power washing I settled on a company to come tomorrow. He was $330 cheaper than the guy who did my deck this summer.

May watch a little football and some of the World Series. The Braves could win it all tonight, so last chance to see the Astros this season, Tutu. [Wink]

Trick or treating just started. I am going to run out of candy quickly. Kids are so cute dressed in their costumes, though.

Welcome to November!

I did my balance and back exercises.

Got out my trusty plumber tools and cleared the same drain in the bathroom that I cleared last week. Hopefully this will work.

Called mom.

Guy came and power washed drive and sidewalk. No more green growth on it!

Luke showed up 4 hours late to do some yardwork. He went several places to grab topsoil and no place had any, so no more grass seed planting this fall. Just had him weed the strawberry blueberry area.

I cleared space in the garage and put away the hoses. Supposed to get below freezing tonight.

Took the garbage, land waste, and recycling down to the curb.

Cooked a chicken breast for dinner tonight.

Seems like I have been up and down the stairs a gadzillion times today. My legs feel it for sure.

Hiker .. just a quick drop by...

We had a great party! Had about 20 people there with about 15 of those actually packing boxes. It was fun!!

We finished by about 12:15 and had ordered our pizza at about 11:45. They did not bring it until 1:15!!!

About half of the people got tired of waiting and left, so we had a LOT of pizza. It was sad!

Domino's said they were understaffed. SIGH!! Had we known it was THAT bad we could have picked it up ourselves. Sheesh.

We think we packed 352 boxes!! The most ever!! We had soccer balls again and we received 51, so we gave 25 to the girls and 26 to the boys.

The member who donated the money for them is passionate about having soccer balls for girls!

We also had about 90 handmade dresses, winter caps I "knitted" on a loom, my felt birds, 350 crosses on plastic canvas, handmade jump ropes and wooden toys like Cracker Barrel has at the tables, hand-crocheted doll blankets for our dolls (about 45) and tons of other items. OH... also about 10 little blankies I cut out from VERY soft and silky fleece. Those were for the 2-4 year old boys since the girls had dolls.

These kids will be beyond HAPPY!

Another busy day tomorrow with Bible study at church and then lunch with a friend from Texas. It's a band director my husband knows.

Hubby is not feeling well tonight, so I'm not sure that will happen.

nite nite!

AK--Praying your mother's cancer treatment went well today and you are back home.

Tutu_-WOW! Sounds like your packing party really was a hit! Hope your hubby felt well enough today to see his friend.

I went to my local internet place which also runs my landline. Trying to get a new deal on the landline price as right now I just pay the taxes. Agent was a former student and said they had a promotion but I would have to call or come back in a month closer to when my contract was up.

Then paid my auto insurance bill.

Did my knee exercises.

Worked a long time on Bible study.

Took a nap in the recliner this afternoon. Slept longer than I intended but I think my body is really fatigued.

Started a good book and now am ready to start fixing dinner. Leftovers.

Its getting cold here. We were working outside this afternoon and I had to get a second jacket, then went for my coat!

Got 13 saffron flowers today. Not so many bloom on cloudy days. On sunny days I've had 20 - 30 flowers.

Daughter got a few more kitchen cupboards and drawers cleaned today.

Washed a load of doilies and curtains.

Freeze warning out for tonight. Haven't had frost yet.

We may get a freeze tomorrow night. We've had a few frosts, but nothing that killed my morning glories yet.

One more day!!

Went to Bible study, lunch with our friend, then quick errands and exercise!! Squeezed it in!!

Watching the World Series now.

Go 'STROS!

Home and totally wiped out. Mom seems OK so far but is radioactive for about a week and we have to take precautions.

Catching flak again from my brother about my Mom's treatment and he called today of all days to see if she's sure she wants treatment.

He also asked how much the hotel costs and said something about Mom eating at a Japanese restaurant before we went to the hotel.

It's obvious what's going on and am glad my little Mom stood up for herself and said she wants treatment.

Her care team thinks she's a perfect candidate for ongoing monitoring and treatment.

This is just one more awful thing to deal with.

God, when it rains it pours!

Ak .. WE stand with you!! Ignore ignorant people!!

I pray she sails through this with flying colors!!

I forgot one tidbit of good news. My husband got some bloodwork done because he's had more fatigue than usual.

Our doctor did an EBV test, thyroid, and Covid antibody test.

Positive on EBV (chronic) and COVID ! He's felt better lately and is still playing golf and hitting golf balls at the range whenever the weather permits.

So we consider it all GOOD!

Me and Mom both had a good night's rest.

Thank you all for the prayers, they truly helped.

I was sick the night before my Mom's treatment due to eating something either to greasy or off at a Japanese restaurant in ATL.

Pepto and a Sprite helped and I was able to sleep a couple of hours.

Mom is doing so well you guys! She doesn't have ANY pain or nausea so far. I am so very, very relieved!

Hiker thank you for getting us going for the week! I'm still having some issues with the house but haven't wiped down everything yet. Have 2 air purifiers going nonstop and we have the UV light added to our HVAC. Might have to fast a bit and see if that'll help. BTW, wish we could have trick or treaters but our neighborhood isn't safe for those kind of activities.

Manna I had to chuckle when I read your post because I had to wash all of our curtains, towels, doilies, etc. on Friday and Saturday. Still have to wipe down the knick knacks and that'll be time consuming for sure.

TuTu what a joy it was to hear about the success of your OCC packing party! FYI, you can freeze leftover pizza. I do that instead of scarfing down the whole thing in a couple days, LOL! Thank you so much for your support in regards to my Mom's treatment. Josh told me to let it slide until they become more adamant in not wanting my Mom to continue. It's her choice and I told her whatever she decides I'll abide by it. So heartbreaking though.

OK, time for me to get my Mom her morning cup of joe!

[hi]

AK--Hope your mom continues to feel fine and that you are able to get rid of your toxic symptoms.

Manna--We have had frost for several days in row now. Wore my winter jacket and gloves yesterday.

Tutu--Sorry about the Astros. [Wink] Glad your hubby is feeling better.

Slept in again. Then did my balance and back exercises.

Chatted with mom.

Worked on writing 3 different poems--all for Christmas and I am not pleased with any of them.

Did a little bit of Bible study. Think I am ready for tomorrow.

Grilling lamb patties for dinner tonight.

Just remember, AK .. It's no one's choice but your mother's.

Period.

Thanks, Hiker.

Had Bible study today here in the neighborhood.

Took Mom's car for an oil change and to be checked over including tires and brakes due to all the driving back and forth to ATL.

Made Mom lunch of soup and a sandwich and she's feeling really good today. She's working on some craft projects and I'm just amazed she's doing so well.

I need to putter around the house and wipe things down and put them away. Also I have some yard work that needs to be done.

Hiker you remind me of my sister. She used to write poetry in high school which I still have. Our thing was she was going to be the writer and I'd illustrate. I still love poetry to this day.

TuTu I know that the decision is my Mom's alone. We talked about it on the way home from ATL. She said right now she will do what the doctors suggest until it becomes to much for her. She still would like to go back to Okinawa one more time. She'd like to go in April for a ceremony for her brother and father's certain year anniversary of their death. Now that would be another miracle!

I can't thank you all enough for helping me all these years! I don't know how I could have handled life since Lyme without help.

[group hug]

Bible study was cancelled this morning as leader was tending to her hubby who just had back surgery. So, I worked on Bible study by myself.

Went grocery shopping.

Bret came and mowed one last time. He cut down the perennials on two sides of the house with his trimmer. So, I went out and raked them up. I still have a few more plants to cut back.

Chatted with my neighbors for quite awhile.

Did my knee exercises.

Took a short nap. Way off balance again today. Sinuses bothering me again. I had 3 days in a row that were pretty good balance wise. Today was not great. See ENT Monday and hope he can help.

AK—hope your mom is still feeling good. And that your reaction to the mold in your house is subsiding.

Did my balance and back exercises.

Listened to the hour long video for Bible study.

Cut back the rest of my perennials. My mums are still blooming but I expect they won’t last much longer.

Talked to the speech/memory therapist who has been working with my mom. She is frustrated because my mom isn’t cooperating. They only have 2 more sessions and I am frustrated that mom isn’t accepting her suggestions.

Called mom and had a talk with her about therapy. She is so stubborn. Sadly her physical therapy also ends next week. I am trying to keep her moving and her brain engaged but I fear it is a losing cause.

Went to donate my books that I buy every year for Christmas but they were not open today. So after hauling 40 books to the car I hauled them back into the house.

Off to do the crossword puzzle in the newspaper.

That's a lot of books Hiker! I need to get my yard ready for winter also. My right thumb was hurting really bad yesterday but seems better today. I don't know what happened but am hoping I can use the pruners for my yard work. Sorry to hear about your Mom not working on her therapy. They can be stubborn!

Today I just made brunch and later picked up some fried catfish for Mom's dinner. We binge watched our Chinese drama on Amazon today. I'm glad for the much needed break but really need to get to work inside and outside of the house.

My plan tomorrow is to clean and polish at least 2 rooms, including ceiling fans and the tops of 2 refrigerators. Yes, we have 2 refrigerators. Don't ask me why because for the life of me I don't understand my Mom's reasoning. It's just the 2 of us and we have a small chest freezer in the laundry room too. Sigh....

Well off to play some games on my Kindle. Night all!

Beautiful sunny day here. I picked up sticks from the yard but then the wind picked up so I decided not to eat my lunch outside as I had planned.

Did a load of laundry.

Friends came over and changed a clock high on the wall as well as the smoke alarm batteries. They know I am struggling with balance right now and I don’t want to stand on a ladder. Then they took my recycling to the bins at the grocery store. [Smile]

I did a load of laundry.

Did my knee exercises.

Watched the Illini football game. They actually won.

Took a brief nap during halftime of the game. Lol

Just relaxing tonight. Don’t forget to turn your clocks back an hour for extra sleep!

Hiker glad to hear your team won! Thank you for reminding us about turning our clocks back!

I way over did it with the house cleaning. Started at 8:30 and worked til 5:00. The kitchen took me alot longer than I thought. Wiping up the residue from the fogger wasn't easy.

Had to wipe the kitchen floor twice with hot water and it was a hands and knees job. Cleaned from the walls down.

Too tired to do the ceiling fan in the living room so I'll save that for next week.

I'm pretty sore and am calling it a night.
