I've been waiting a week and a half to start my Bicillin so I could have my blood drawn to send to Igenex. So I took off work on Monday, went to my Doctor to get my lab order and went to the out patient lab at a local hospital to get my blood drawn.

They have never sent out to Igenex before so they called Igenex to make sure they did it right.

They draw my blood, give it to me, I box it up and drive to FedEx. I was relieved to have it done.

I get home about 2 hours later and there is a message on my machine from the out patient lab and they wanted me to call them.

I return their call, and this is what they say, ``Hello, this is _______ from the out patient lab and it just dawned on me, we forgot to spin your blood I hope you haven't mailed it yet.'' I think my words were, ``What the #@*&!''

I started freaking out. I have a useless sample with a $180 check on its way to Igenex! I ran to FedEx and they had not shipped it yet.

So, FedEx gave it back to me and I went back to the lab. Everything worked out, but I was all stressed out and drove back and forth from the lab to FedEx to the lab to FedEx more than I cared to do.

I guess it's half my fault, but I assumed they knew how to do their job and didn't really think about it. You know what they say about people who assume, they make a ______ out of u and me, and I did.

Anyway, I started my Bicillin yesterday and now my butt hurts.

Good times.

Hey Lenny,

Welcome to the Bicillin party!

My rear is still recovering from my second shot. Takes me 3 day to recover.
Not to mention the herx that follows.

Congratulations, Lenny. You just survive your initiation ceremony into LymeLand.

You've proved that you have what it takes to persevere through the challenges ahead. You will come out on top, thanks to your "can do" attitude and your spirit of determination to succeed, no matter what obstacles are thrown into your path.

Just wait til TinCup hears about this one -- to add to her collection of other similar sagas.

Let me tell you something, I don't remember the last time I was that mad.

When I got off the phone with that lady at the Lab I just had to stare at the floor for about 10 minutes or I was going to freak out.

Then I figured I better do something about it. I'm just glad it worked out.

This is just to echo DMC. Welcome to the Bicillin party! It's very effective in the long run but you have to be patient with it. A year ago I couldn't open a jar. This last Sunday, I worked about nine hours laying PVC drains for the slab that is soon to be part of the house I'm building. You WILL get better.

David,
Glad you are feeling better and congratulations on the house.

I actually already feel pretty "good." I was on Mino for a few months before the bicillin, just not a high enough dose. So, I hope these injections will wipe it all out. I feel like Mike Tyson punched me in the butt. I go for my second shot on Sunday.

Thanks for the encouraging words.

Lenny,
A lot of people find that the shots hurt a lot less over time. In my case, they rarely ache for more than an hour or two, these days. Lyme isn't for wimps and I'm glad to see you are going the distance.
