well, i have been so excited about being able to come back to this group on a regular basis again,

i keep telling my husband that you all are the best therapy there is.

and because he says he can actually see me more relaxed after just being on here and sometimes only reading other's posts, and most recently coming back on with my own, he actually encourages me to spend as much time as i can with you all.

because if nothing else, being here gives me the assurance i need to know that i am not alone in my fight nor is my family.

however, things have been different on here.

before my pc was in the shop for a week and a half, i noticed it, but hoped when i got it back, and was able to get back on this board, the negativity would have gone down a notch towards our dr.'s. it has not.

please know it is not my intent to make any one angry, nor would i EVER wish to discourage a single person from coming on here with whatever their need is.

i just think that at times, things are said, in the heat of frustration, and then before long, it just appears to sprial out of control.

i know we all have issues with our dr,'s. God knows i have had a ton!

i mean look it took over 15 dr.'s in over 8 years of being very ill. having been diagnosed with just about every disease out there, from brain tumor, to ms. before i was finally fortunate enough to see the one dr. who said i think you have lyme disease, i had never before heard of this thing called lyme.

even watching my mother suffer my entire life, and then dealing with her passing at such a young age, to fins out it was all due to lyme.

not to mention the hell my son went through, especially during his younger years, with up to 18 seizures a day, so many drugs that he began having liver and kidney trouble, spending weeks and months in the hosp.until the age of ten, when again it was a dr. who finally said lyme.

however the damage to his little body was done.

but i cannot dwell on the damage, i have to look at the fact that he and i would probably be like my mother, dead, if it had not been for the dr. who actually had the knowlege of lyme disease, to diagnose us both.

my mother was not as fortunate. and yes, she did have some dr.'s who treated her as if she were crazy, but i truly believe that for the most part, they just did not have the knowledge!

do not get me wrong, we have all seen some horrific dr.'s. but i refuse to believe that they are the majority.

i think that for the most part, they all would really like to see us healthy people, with productive lives. however, they do not have the knowledge of this disease.

and with good reason, alot of them are scared to get that knowledge, because once they begin treating us in the manner we need to be treated, we all have witnessed the hell they can be forced to go through.

sometimes with the risk of losing everything they have worked their entire lives to build.

with all of the different personalities on this board alone, mixed with the personalities of the few llmd's, we have to choose from, there is going to be conflict.

just please keep in mind that when you come on here and refer to a dr. as crazy, etc., or demean him/her in any way, you could really be hurting all of us, including yourself.

and i think we would all agree that the llmd's get enough ripping apart within the medical community.

we do not need to add to it, as their patient's,

they need our support, sometimes more than we need their's.

i have personally seen my own dr. put through hell, nearly lost his liscense, his practice went bankrupt, but he is still here with us, fighting this fight with us everyday, in any way he knows how.

yet i have on numerous occassions seen him mentioned on this board as crazy, a jerk, etc.

well, just because you think someone is crazy, or a jerk, does not mean he is a bad dr., but when such things are posted about our dr.s it sends a message to people who have never seen these dr.'s, that maybe they shoudn't see them.

which simply is not fair.

i apologize for the length of this post, also if i have offended anyone here,

however it just seems as though there has been an overwhelming amount of negativity towards our dr.'s as of late, and maybe at times, we forget how much we really need them.
