I think the abx's are starting to work. The past couple of weeks I have been feeling a bit better.

But now with the cold weather setting in so is the joint and muscle pain. Ouch!

Do any of you have your pain get worse or servere in the winter. One winter I could hardly walk from the pain in my legs. That was the first year we suspect I had Lyme. It has never been that bad since.

But right now it is just getting bad in my arms, shoulders and back. So far my legs are minor. Just get stiff and achie if I sit in one position too long.

You said..

"Just get stiff and achie if I sit in one position too long."

One day while at the chiropractors... I said... as I reached my right arm over my head and down towards my back...

"When I do this, it hurts."

He looked at me.. and he said...

"Well, don't do that."

FUNNY GUY!

I am glad to hear your legs aren't so bad as before.. but the upper body being nasty isn't a picnic.

Yes.. I get icky and stiff in the winter also. I am... for sure.. a warm weather person.

Are you taking any ibprofen or advil? I couldn't survive without mine. It must be at a steady blood level though, to be the most effective.

In other words.. take it as often as allowed on the directions... especially during the first week.

I take the prescription dose... 800 mg. at a time. I am able to take it 2 times a day much of the time.. but need it 3-4 times a day sometimes.

Please remember...

If you wait to take the medicine once the pain is really rough.. it won't work as well.

You should take it sooner than that.

Now.. also know..

I am NOT a doctor and can NOT advise you to take any meds.. however.. you may want to ask your doc if they think this might be helpful for you?

The other thing that helps is heat. You might wanna grab some older socks.. NOT nylon ones.. and fill them with rice or dried beans.. tie the end shut.. and stick them in the micowave.

This will give you mini heating pads.. fairly cheap.. that you can reuse.

Be sure to dump out the rice or beans before washing the sock!

The next option.. head south!

I ALWAYS enjoy a break from the cold.

The last option...

Go to Atlanta and pickett outside the Weather Channel studio.

Write on your poster..

"Heat, heat, can't be beat."

Possibly when they see you out there picketting their business.. they will adjust the weather so we will all be more comfortable.

Worth a try?

Hope you get some relief.

Oh.. perhaps some Glucosimine/Condroitin would help? You have to take it for a while supposedly to feel the best effects. When I used it.. it worked quite well.

Lettuce no how you are doing and if you find something that helps!

Hey TC,

Had to go to a Family Christmas Party last night. My power window quit working on the passenger side on the way!!! I froze. My whole face started hurting last night even my teeth!!! How the heck do your teeth hurt!!! And my eye sockets, WOW!! Feels like I want to pluck my eyeballs out sometimes!! My vision is horrible today to, the whole screen blurs in and out.

Maybe I am just trading in stuff now. My bugs ore playing poker. OK you lose flu like, make her feel sick all the time, I win, me Pain gonna rev havic on her joints muscles and make her where she can't see!!!
Hahahahahahaha

My body temp is really low to begin with I believe from the Babs. So it wasn't like freeze your butt off cold last night for most people but it was for me.

I can't take ibuprophin (sp?) because I have been on asprin thearopy since the stroke. I took 2 tylonol PM when I got home last night and went to bed.

My forearms were hurting really bad and even the top of my feet up past my ankles, strange places. And my back is killing me.

I have a high tolerance for pain so I haven't taken precription pain meds since that 1st year.

I have had to get some quartizone injections off and on in my wrists and knees. When the pain gets out of hand and it is always in the winter.

Oh and what your chiropracter told you. i like using that one on my kids all the time! They hate it!

Well I am off for another Thanks giving meal today with my Brother-in-laws family.

Hope you have a great day. Thanks for the advice.

Cindy

Hi Cindy-

Yes cold makes the pain worse especially until the bacterial load goes down.

I still over dress, gloves when it is barely chilly and tights or silks all winter long.

One of our favorite thing is to drive in the car with the heat on full blast! Hey with lyme pleasures are simple.

OK I am beginning to believe that their may be something more going on now than just the cold weather.

The freaky face spasms in the right side of my face started again today. I have not had those in like 5 months. My vision has gone haywire and now my ears are freaking out again! Buzzing and ringging and feeling like they are going to pop off and on. Also the jumpiness again. The smallest things startle me. Make me jump out of my skin. But that can also have to do with my ears being so sensitive to sound.

Maybe the pain is just coming along with this other stuff. I still don't feel awlfull sick like before. The past two weeks I have been feeling better. I just feel crappy mostly right after meals for a little bit.

I hope I am not going back into a tail spin!!

mlkeen,

Me and my hubby fight over the heater in the car all the time. I turn it up and he turns it off! It gets to be nerve racking. Same at home too. He even picks on me cause I wear sweats all the time. If I wear something different he will say to the kids "Look at your Mom, whats wrong with this picture? Where are her sweatpants and sweat shirt? Whats wrong honey are you OK?" Makes me want to knock him out!!
