For anyone as dense as me who never got a chance to look at the CDC numbers for 2003, which were reported in May of 2005 (!) here is the site. http://tinyurl.com/cbnd7

For a chart state by state, go to Part 2.

The Nat. numbers (you can multiply these by at least 10) were 21,273 new cases for 2003

PA had the most accepted reported cases at
5730
NY (including NYC) had 5399
NJ was third with 2887 followed by
MA 1532
CT 1403
WI 740
RI 736
MD 691
MN 474
DE 212 fills out the top ten.

These are surveillance #'s. Kind of faulty at best, as the numbers are not representative of the state where the patient got bit. Many people are bit in one state and reported in another.

The doctors in Ohio are still saying "We don't have Lyme disease here." There were 66 Ohio cases reported and accepted by the CDC. (They don't accept all reported cases, the case has to fit the surveillance criteria)

Thanks to Linda for sending this site on to me. It is from the LDF and includes numbers reported to part of this year.
