Hello all fellow Lymies.....
Think I'm looking for a scolding..... or someone to say I did the right thing !!

Diagnoses in 2000... late stage Lyme !
Long story shortened.... did all the meds up til June 2005, took myself off all meds ...why ? because I felt so good ! Stopped seeing my LLMD in Dec.... waiting til meds run out before stopping them.... felt great for 6-8 weeks but...... now neuro problems are returning... fibro is raging... and I don't know what to do !
Was feeling so good that I was planning on going back to work..( nursing ).... Now afraid that I'll need all those meds again... Does this disease ever end ?????
Help..... Jan

Hi Jan,
I'm a nurse too but havent been able to work since 7/11 with the fatigue, and neuro/cog issues. Its disheartening to see posts from people who have been struggling fo so long. I wish I could offer more...wishing you better health!!

Do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor, but I DID stay at a Holiday Inn Express!

Hi Jan

Sorry that you're feeling bad again. Your time line is very close to mine. Diagnosed in 2000 - ABX until Mid 2004 - Began decline Fall of 2004. After months of tests and waiting to see doctor now waiting to get approval to get back on IVs.
Sounds like you need to get back to your LLMD and see what they say. Hopefully you've caught it early and can knock it down.

Welcome to this 24/7 educational & support group board, www.lymenet.org !
Here's TREEPATROL's and TINCUP'S combination newbie links.
http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/029917.html

Print off the links then check them off as you read as you could spend several months reading all of this. Treepatrol constantly adds new links as they become available from the members here.

print & read Dr. B's (a lyme literate MD) info first; you will come back to this often.

Also, see Cheryl's extensive web sites on: LD DIAGNOSIS, SYMPTOMS, & TREATMENT ... wonderful!
http://www.lymeinfo.net/lymediseasetreatment.html

Some guidelines from Betty/others on using this message board:

* Do NOT use all caps when posting; it's hard on our eyes. But I know one of our members has macular degeneration, and all caps is what she can see & read so exceptions like this are acceptable for good reasons.

* We chronic, late-stage lymies can NOT read long paragraphs. So please limit your paragraphs to 6-8 lines max of text and double space between paragraphs.

* You can EDIT your text comments anytime. You can NOT edit your subject line so please make it as specific as possible instead of ``help, question'' etc. in order to have more readers/replies in trying to assist you. There are between 30-40 NEW/replies to post daily so we can't read all the posts on our limited time here...thanks for understanding.

* If you use the ``quote'' icon, please DELETE [B] bold at the beginning & ending of the quote. This makes it easier on our chronic, late-stage lyme eyes.

* To just reply without quoting, go to the top or bottom of screen in the black & white area to reply or post a new topic. Many of us couldn't see it when we 1st started posting. Thank you for helping us all out!

Yep you definitely have cognitive problems back cuz according to my grandkids boo boo is spelled booboo....not boo bo.......LOL

Everyone here would have done what you did when we felt really better...and probably have from time to time...

Not like anyone here REALLY likes taking all this medication...however it sounds like you're having a relapse........sucks.....

Sorry but you'll probably have to go back on your meds....at least whatever you were taking got you to feel sooo good......zman

Yes, been wondering the same thing myself. Been treated a long time, still not rid of all symptoms, but much better. Stop for a few weeks, get worse. Not seeing anytime ahead without meds. Having a hard time with this idea and not sure anyone will keep treating me for as long as I need it. Money an issue too.

Sorry Nurse TNT,

Since you were feeling better and ready to go back to work maybe you can while doing meds.

I used to barely work part time now I work 3-4days a week.

Or are you worried about losing disability? If so don't risk it. I here it's so hard to get in the first place.

Heather

Hi Jan welcome-

I went of abx for a couple of weeks during July because my vision had gotten so bad I wanted to see if it was my liver and kidneys struggling. My vision improved and I felt great. Several weeks back on abx and I had a return of pain and the whole merry go round.

We seem to be in the same boat.

Well, I'm off to the sauna in the "attic" to annoy those keets.

Mel
