I just talked with Andy Abrahams Wilson, the producer/director of the film this afternoon.

For purposes of accurate information, the information contained above regarding timeframe and mechanism of distribution are *not* accurate.

The film is underway and is critical to all of us with Lyme. I encourage all of you, per my previous post, to contribute financially to the project if you are able. It is so important.

Further information about the film will be available as the project progresses.

IT'S LYME DISEASE NOT LYMES. I KNOW IT'S A LITTLE THING---BUT WE KNOW WHAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT HERE. WE SHOULD SAY LYME. AND SHOW WE'RE EDUCATED ABOUT THE DISEASE. WHEN I HEAR A DOC OR NURSE SAY LYMES I JUST WANT TO PUNCH THEM.

Yeah, it's funny. It didn't used to bother me seeing "lymes". Now, it drives me nuts.

Why is it I just want to jump up and scream when somebody says Lymes disease? Makes us so crazy mad! I think its because we fight so hard for a diagnosis, and the political mess it is, and all the lies in the media and from the ducks, its like we want justice! Spelling it Lime annoys me just as much! Grrr!!! [bonk]

I WAS SO EXCITED TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE ABOUT THIS PROJECT. I GUESS I SHOULDN'T HAVE LISTENED AND TRUSTED SO NAIVELY. I JUST WANTED TO BELIVE WHAT I HEARD SO BADLY.

SO AGAIN SORRY TO ALL FOR THE INFORMATION I GOT WRONG. I WILL ENCOURAGE ALL TO DONATE TO THIS PROJECT!!! IT LOOKS WONDERFUL!!

I hear ya about "lymes disease"

Sound like lemons & limes.

There was an episode on the sitcome "Seinfeld"

In which the Elaine was telling Jerry that her friend had lyme.

Jerry said " I thought she had epstein Bar?"

Elaine said " NO I think she has epstein Bar with a twist of Lyme"

Alot of laughing in the audience. They thought this was funny.

Gerrrrrr [shake]

Dana,

That was on the other day and my husband turned to me and said, "That's just not funny, is it?"

I also have Lyme with Ebstein-Barr--but i guess there is no bad publicity--at least it gets the name and the idea it is a bad disease out into the public consciencness.

Wow, this is interesting!

How many of you have Lyme Disease with Epstein Barr Virus??

Just last Dec. my doc finally diagnosed me with Lyme upon my "false negative" lab tests. He had me see an infectious disease specialist for further evaluation and the ID doc told my PCP that I don't have Lyme Disease but that I have Chronic Mono.

I don't believe this ID doc which I think is a quackoo duck, but I do believe in the possibility of having EBV that was probably exacerbated by having Lyme Disease. My doc first diagnosed me with EBV when I crashed about 3 years ago, before he eventually told me I have Lyme Disease....

So I'd like to hear more about this and what your docs are doing about this type of situation. Is EBV considered a co-infection or what??

Don't sweat it, Lymedesign. We're just cranky. Lyme disease makes us this way. [Big Grin]

Besides that, I have a spelling obsession. What do I do for fun? Play tournament Scrabble.

So be sure to throw it in my face the next time I misspell or typo.... [Razz]

Shaz

Oh yeah, Shaz! Who you callin' cranky?!?!?!

Seriously folks, this documentary group has a big catalog of films they have done and many have been shown at film festivals all over the world, and on such as PBS. You can check them out on their website.

I hope they will do a good job. If anyone gets to talk to them at the "Hope to Heal" conference, please mention the accuracy of LYME.

Several years ago, there was a move to call it Borreliosis or Lyme Borreliosis and that is what it is called today in Europe in many places.

I always thought that made more sense, though now, I would really like to address "Tick-borne disease" as that includes many co-infections and
other diseases carried by ticks.

Thus TBDBullseye!

lyme design-please don't feel bad at all about that---it gave us

#1-a chance to educate a whole bunch of people
and
#2-a chance to V-E-N-T!!!!!!!

really-i wanted to say it and i really did not want to hurt anyones feelings...there's a lot of other stuff going on too...stories about good llmds that are not true and unfortunatly---docs saying they are llmd when they are not...bad stuff happeneing and a whole bunch of newbies around lately...

so PLEASE do not take it personally and thank you for giving us the chance to talk about it

my story about an ortho doc calling it lymes is so crazy i can't even write it and may be why it bugs me so much!

Absolutely, Ann, I've been following the making of this film from the beginning. Since I always like to check my sources before joining or endorsing anything, I went to their website, and noticed that they had done work for a well-known modern dance pioneer. (I was a pro modern dancer.)

I emailed her, and she assured me that this group was both professional and compassionate. They did a wonderful job with a documentary on AIDS, really helped raise understanding about that disease.

The current film was undertaken because a member of the company has Lyme. We need to really get behind this film -- a picture will be worth a thousand words in the general population.

Regards,
Shaz

What an exciting project!

We still love you LYMEDESIGN! it's just with how hard we struggle for recognition that we need to get the name right.

I actually prefer TBI- tick borne infections to include ALL the cos most of us struggle with. Many uninformed do not realize that there are 7+ infections that we might have.
