I had the endoscopy and colonoscopy today. Results were 2 ulcers in the esophagus and diverticulosis in the colon.
The doctor biopsied the ulcers, the stomach, the small intestine, the colon, and the rectum. I'll get those results in 2 weeks, so please keep praying.
Coming out of the anesthesia was really rough as I am so weak and thin. He and I will talk more about adding some starches back into the diet while using yeast medicine(diflucan or nystatin). I have to gain weight and strength or I will begin to lose the battle to Lyme.

Thanks for taking the time and effort for posting-cause you know we be wondering about ya.
I guess it's good to have some diagnoses. But my gosh- no wonder you have been in so much pain !
Hope you are resting more comfortably now.And treatment will help you tolerate foods better so you can bulk up and be strong enough to hit the trails again ,soon.

Hiker, hopefully you will feel better with treatment.
I understand the battle between needing starchhes to maitain weight while combatting yeast.
Once you get your strength back, your immune system may kick in and fight those yeasts.
One thing that has helped me: I started juicing green vegetables two weeks ago. It's easier on the stomach and I have gained weight. You can eat the fiber too which will help with the diverticulosis.
Thank you for posting during a ificult time.

Crikey, Hiker. I'm glad you were out like a light for the two-sided "double insult!"
I have diverticulosis too. Avoid stuff with tiny seeds. (I SAY that, as I continue to eat juicy figs off my neighbor's tree... )
I hope you will hear good news from your biopsies and get to feeling better soon.
Sending a hug,
Michelle
