Each new season grows from the leftovers of the past. That is the essence of change, and change is the essence of life.

It's time for me to leave. So this will be my last post.

I am grateful for the friends I have made on Lymenet and I am grateful for what Dr. K. taught me which I was able to pass on and help some of you.

May the year ahead bring you health and joy.

Take care.

Not good, but I do understand. [Frown] I know what you share seems to fall on deaf ears, but I really think you are making a difference.

It is because of you that I am looking into herbs more and trying to wrap my brain around it. I really wish you wouldn't leave.

Can't you just check in and post where you feel it is of most benefit. I rarely post myself, unless I feel like someone is really looking for what I know from experience.

Please reconsider. You are forging a path, and have insight to share that no one else can replace. [Smile]

gigi, i'm so sorry to hear you are leaving lymenet after 6+ years here, but also understand after spending these many years in misery, fighting lyme, and educating others; there does come a time to close a chapter of your life, and move on!

i do hope it wasn't something someone said/did to you!

i too have learned from you/others.

i wish you only god's best of health, happiness, and time with your family! DO COME BACK TO VISIT OR POST UPDATES ON YOURSELF OK! we care about YOU!

you helped tremendously in making lymenet WHAT IT IS TODAY: EDUCATION/SUPPORT 24/7 !! thanks for everything you provided every one of us.

GiGi,

So much I have learned from your posts. And just this week, because of you, I have begun Destroxin which I swear is helping already.

I get the sense you are not leaving because you have been insulted but perhaps because something in your life has changed which is causing you to close this chapter of your life.

I pray it is not bad.

This frustrates me to no end. GiGi has posted so much useful information here and she has nothing to gain by doing it other than it may help some people. It may not help all people. It is each person's choice as to whether or not to read and potentially take action based on something that you read.

I find it unfortunately on this board that some people (you know who you are) rather than just not commenting if you don't necessarily agree have to constantly make negative comments, grill GiGi for her assertions, and essentially have driven her away. She is the only person I know that is essentially cured, or at least asymptomatic, from severe Lyme disease. Her approach worked for her and it has also worked for me - though I am still working on my recovery.

For those of us that benefit GREATLY from her posts, it is unfortunately that those negative-nellys have taken GiGi's information from all of us. Shame on you.

Be well,
Scott

I'm sad to see someone with so much experience and knowledge leave. I'm very new here, in fact haven't been tested so don't really know if I even have Lyme yet, but I've been reading and reading and reading trying to learn all I can. People like me need all of you!

GIGI,
I have really appreciated the time and energy that you have devoted to those of us who are still struggling to learn what we need to learn in order to get well.

You have been wonderful and steadfast in your desire to help others. I thank you kindly for your efforts and appreciate that you've had to put up with abuse in order to disseminate your valuable and much needed information.

It's impossible not to notice the nasty undertone on this board from a few who are trying to stop discussion of things that they don't approve of. I hope this is not why you are leaving because if it is, then they have won part of the battle.

That said, you have certainly gone way beyond what anyone could be expected to do in order to help others and again, I and clearly many others have been helped by you. Thank you!!!!
Terry

GIGI,
I was going to PM you but I see that function is disabled. I seem to recall that you mentioned that you would be disabling it due to some abusive e-mails?

I'm wondering if you might consider setting up a blog where you could post your info and ideas? The archives on this board don't seem to retain all of the information or sometimes it's just hard to find it. I used to be a programmer before I became disabled and I would be willing to help you if you decided you have the time/energy to devote to this.

If you truly are leaving because you are moving on and not because you are sick of dealing with the abuse then I totally understand. I can't help but feel that this is a terrible loss to the lyme community.
Terry

Gigi...we need your insight and information. It's vital that we have someone who has gone through the trenches and come through the other side.

You need to know that for whatever reason you are choosing to leave, you have overwhelming support and admiration on this board.

If you need a break to see what life offers, please return and teach us.

Since I can't PM you. I just wanted to let you know that the comment I made about your dental post scaring the "***t" out of me was only because I fear that my daughter may have to someday have severe dental work. She is too young, and we have spent so much on her beautiful smile, to lose it. That's all. Your information has caused me to do further research.

(And,if she received abusive emails, they did not come from me).

So, if I offended you by that comment in the "silver filling" thread, I apologize. It was my fear speaking.

Kelly

Well my friend..

I'm afraid you are wrong... and/or...

Your clock must be broken!

MY clock works and I can see it is NOT time for you to leave.

I will allow you the weekend off.. but I do expect you back here Monday morning... bright and early.

[Big Grin]

Actually dear one..

If you need a break.. please do. I know the atmosphere around here has been crappy at best lately.. and folks have been nit picking on just about everything under the sun. If you are seeing or feeling what many others are.. know it isn't you.. it is practically the whole darn board gone nuts.

Pick, pick, pick, kick, kick, kick. No respect.

I am not sure but I think Lyme Net could probably use a good shaking out and starting over from what I've been seeing and others have been experiencing here lately... as well as emails, phone calls and chatter back and forth. It's a real shame too. What I see ain't at all close to normal.. and it is scaring new folks off and giving even the long timers cause for pause and reason to throw in the towel.

Is it because it is January? A full moon? Winter time.. or all those combined? I don't know. But I have noticed.. as have others.. that it is quite miserable here on a regular basis... so it's not you if that is what you are thinking.

I'm afraid we are going to loose more good folks if this keeps up... and we have already lost some. Soooooooooooooooooo.. go fishing if you'd like.. hope folks here get straight.. and come back when you can. We need you!!!

Love always..

TC

You know, Gigi, so many folks read/learn - take questions and info to their doctors because of your insights into these diseases......but they don't always post. You have helped lead me to my son's new Washington D.C. lyme/alternative doctor.

Recently my own lyme doctor said she and other doctors received an email from a prominent llmd stating how important it is to deal with heavy metals. This llmd had a "yureka" moment.

Much apppreciation. Your efforts are as crucial as Tincup's.

Very confused as to why you are leaving so suddenly. Could you stop in once in awhile, even if only to say hello and let us know how you are?

gigi:\i would just like you to know that even though i don't agree with many of your posts.
i have learned to repect them from last year
when we had that tussle.
ihave read every post that you have posted and researched many of your bibliographies.

i do believe our beliefs and the truths may be somewhere in the middle of both our beliefs.

i know it was not me that sent emails because i would never do that to anybody.

you do have some very informative information for the group, and hope you continue to post.

people need oppinions from boths sides of an issue not just one, and i have tried very hard in the last year not to disrespect your oppinions.

i can disagree but i will not bash you any more.
or have i in the last six months.

hope you stay,

Gigi,

I have always read your posts and printed them out for my files or stashed them away in my mind.

Even if the approach is not something I want to try now, I try to learn as much about every type of Lyme modality, because one never knows when one approach may stop working, or there is a bad reaction, or it's time to address something new.

It's one of the reasons I love to compare approaches with several of my Lyme pals - among us, I think we've got all the approaches covered, from antibotics to Salt/C to Rife to Dr. K. to herbs.

So even if some of us were not trying something you recommended immediately, please know that your information has planted seeds that will have a lasting effect.

I hope you can enjoy this new chapter in your life.

Take care,
Jill

I wanted to add my voice to both thank you for all of your selfless contributions, to urge you to reconsider, and to wish you all the very best.

If you choose to not return to share your wisdom, I hope that you will consider posting somewhere else (maybe Scott's blog?) or creating your own blog.

best wishes to you,

Sorry to see you leaving. I have studied your posts.

I think it would be best for everyone's mental/emotional health if we don't knock each other here and tear one another down for what is offered. I have seen this happening and it is no fun for the recipient.

We're just trying to make sense out of what's going on and give support through this ordeal we've been thrown into. Let's leave some room for that to happen here.

Take a break and a breather, but please don't leave us.

Your knowledge, and the great efforts you have expended to share it, are priceless and truly representative of a selfless heart. Thank you for your time and for the education... on behalf of myself and the thousands you have helped.

I do hope you reconsider... but if you don't, in the eyes of the karma gods, you've done your part. Be well, be happy, and thank you.

Sorry to hear you were "victimized" for your diligent efforts to further the education of us all. Hope you won't let those one or two negative people keep you away for long.

I find the best thing about Lymenet is the opportunity to read different viewpoints/experiences. You have provided valuable info. My vote is for you to stay [Smile]

Thanks for sharing that, don. Yes, they talk about it in the first hour.

Mr. Solomon lives and works in Northern Westchester County, highly endemic. He also mentioned that the Turf and Landscape trade show (Jan. 10 at the Westchester County Center in White Plains) was going to open to the public ($20 entry fee), and would include a program on "Lyme and West Nile: Prevention and Treatment." Dr. C is scheduled to speak at that program 8:45-9:45 a.m.

I have gained so much from GiGi's posts. Every time I do a search, I hope that it will return some of her wisdom, and it usually does.

GiGi's posts specifically have helped me with the decision to have my amalgams removed, proper procedures for mercury detox, and many, many tips on general detoxing.

I don't think I can even remember how many other things, as there's been a lot I've just absorbed from reading her posts. Many things she's discussed echo the advice of the naturopaths and the biological dentist I've seen, who all believe that chronic lyme patients are plagued by a multitude of complex problems, any of them environmental, that need addressing.

I can't imagine how many hours she's freely dedicated to helping educate lyme patients. There are others here as well, who give so much, but she has really helped me enormously.

Thank you, GiGi.

i've been absent more than here due to extreme hardship related to Lyme. thanks to you, health is improving, it is other conditionms we suffer from.

please consider maintaining your presence at some level on this board.

reasons for illness run the gammut, from toxicity to infection to emotions, knowledge and beyond.

please remember that that also plays a role in attitude and postings. i know you realize that.

many of us who glean information from you that is the lifeblood to recovery do not respond as often as we should.

i hope to be sure to rectify that if you stay.

GiGi, you've brought some very interesting things to the table - I've been meaning to try the fermented vegetables you posted about! I wish other LymeNet posters would exercise more civility and respect too. However, I hope you'll consider the 'scroll on by' option and simply refuse to be engaged. Please know that rude remarks look very strange in a vacuum; it's generous of you to even bother to respond. Save your energy and just don't, but don't let it drive you away, either.

Gigi,

I want to echo what the others have been saying in that I have learned so much from you. I appreciate your efforts in posting and researching and educating all of us with your experiences.

Part of me wants to say don't go, we need you but mostly I want to thank you and bless you for what you have done. Take care of yourself and do what is best for you. I'm sorry that this wasn't a friendlier place.

Dear Gigi,
I'm just getting back here after a long absense and trying to rebalance things on this side of the computer screen. Everything is in checks and balances...and life will make us make choices as we make those adjustments to our best abilities.

Seeing your post has put another reminder of that into focus. I hope your departure is but a reprieve to find what or where your journey takes you next, and you will come back here when you're able.

By all that have responded, it is shown how much you are needed and the impact your presence has made. There's not much I can add that hasn't been said, but please add my sincere thanks for all you've share and that I've been fortunate to learn from.

Be well and happy,
JavaBeing

Gosh, my heart is sad for the painful things that have been said to you, GiGi.

And I too feel the loss of your valuable presence.

Just yesterday, my new family doc asked me how he could learn more about lyme.

He's already amazingly lyme literate. Thank God for the help he is sending to me.

Anyway, I sent him 2 links: betterhealthguy and lymenet with the instruction to do a search for GiGi + ________ (fill in the blank).

GiGi, you will continue to bring healing to many.

Thank you.

Susan

ignorance is the root of all suffering.

it exists on this board as much as anyewhere else.

imo, anyone here denouncing the ignorance of medical proffessionals who will not acknowledge the Lyme condition, while at the same time denouncing any health-oriented focus practice hypocracy at it's most detrimental effect.

GiGi has helped thpousands, children, families, individuals. With no other motivation that to give back what she has learned.

there is no excuse for the bull we see here on her threads. it is a classic case of ignorant abuse which no dopubt causes the suffering of others.

if one does not agree or have any interest in a topic, SCROLL THE H$LL ON BY!!

without even trying very hard, i have pulled more than a dozen critical threads from GiGi up in medical, of which she has posted only in the past couple of weeks!!

if i pulled them up over the years, you would have your ticket to wellness tenfold.
not all would see it, praytell.

shame on the ignorance, but moreover, shame on those who attack topics and their messengers for no good reason whatsoever.

Well, GIGI, you got ME to go to a topic on this board for the FIRST time other than Medical.

I only did it because I heard you were leaving, and had been wondering why I hadn't heard much from you since I got back here too.

I don't know WHY exactly you are leaving, but more power to you. Hope it is not your health. I was too busy to be here much the past three or four months.

I am still on the herbs, and am going to start cutting back on them now and see what happens. I have been at 3/4 of my maximum of Buhner's Protocol, plus, for the past couple of months and am now going to cut it down to 1/2 of the max next week and see how I feel.

Take care, and feel free to PM me at any time.

Sincerely,
JimBoB

Me too! I think lymenet lost a big part of it. Shame on the ones that add almost nothing, but just are just spoilers.

Gigi, thank you for giving my life back. If not for your advice on finding help, who knows if I was stil going to be alive today. I'm not only alive, I'm so much active, I'm on so many of your recommended supplements, and wil certainly look for Galactose here in Germany.

That's the biggest loss in all forums I visit.

I'm sure you saved many other people's lives with all the hours, days, years you spent here.

My daughter Naomi also thanks you.

Dear Gigi,

I too am so sad to see you leave.

Just wanna let you know that you have clearly contributed to my turning to more natural and comprehensive ways of healing. And, in fact, I attribute my recovery in part to your wisdom.

THANK YOU!!!

A lot of people seem to think that you've been chased away by people who disagree with you and who challenge you and who are negative towards you.

I hope that this is NOT the reason for your departure. And, from what I think I know about your nature, I don't think this is the reason either.

You seemed to have a wonderful bull**** shield up all the time. And how wonderful for you to be able to do that. That is truly remarkable to abstain from a fight and just walk away...you must have done that a gazilion time or so.

THANK YOU for that too!

Whatever your next endevour is in life, I wish you good luck and good health.

Michael

here's a suggestion i have and sent it to mo.

gigi...

we've got many newbies who want to help here/there, another idea:

your posting in medical stating we want to check treepatrol's newbie's links and make a listing of ALL GIGI'S POSTS ALREADY IN HIS ARCHIVES.

several people could take on this assisnment splitting up the huge volume of links by pages since tree has page NOS. he assigned all the way thru.

they click on every link there, if GIGI's name pops up as the person ORIGINATING THE Link, TO COPY THAT AND PASTE TO THEIR WORD PROCESSOR for an ongoing list ofALL her links in tree's archives .

for them to SAVE IT each time they add another new link so it doesn't get lost, and even make a BACKUP of each link so if one fails ; another is there so they do NOT have to start from scratch again.

then for this team of collectors to start ONE post showing: GIGI'S MEDICAL LINKS .. ALL KNOWN!

then for each person to PASTE their collection there until each person has this done.

then asking jenifer to make this MEDICAL "FEATURE" so it stays up to the top.

THEN PRINT OFF GIGI'S COMPLETE LIST OF TOPIC LINKS THAT HAVE BEEN COMBINED.

then for anyone who has EXTRA time to bring up GIGI'S MEMBERSHIP NO. and it will list up to 300 posts. click on posts she ORIGINATES, and compare that against "GIGI COMPLETE LIST OF LINKS IN TREEPATROL'S LINKS".

NOTE: they should then add on MORE links as they are found! to GIGI'S COMPLETE LINKS and to their word processor again SAVING EACH link they will ADD to ALL GIGI'S LINKS .

i think they can then indicate a DIFFERENT TIME FRAME to search, and come up with another 300 posts?? not sure on this but they could check with jenifer and/or toby for their help on this search feature.

what do you think mo? [confused]

did i lose you; hope not as this is the best i can explain with my neuro lyme mind!

Betty,

I think it would be a good idea to have all Gigi's posts organized in two ways, incl your way which would be like the "Gigi gold standard of hollistic treatment for LD".

However, since she has so many posts and since sometimes her information is a little difficult to comprehend, I think her information should also be represented in the form of a high-level summary of everything she said.

As I understand from your post, it seems you're suggesting to add a separate sticky post for all Gigi's information. That I think is a good idea. For sure, I don't think it belongs in the "links and info for newbies" post. Cause it is way over the head of most newbies. It might even turn them off as they may regard it as quackery, as many people do about hollistic/naturopathic medicine.

I have sort of suggested this before wrt to all the other information that is contained in the "links and info for newbies" post...cause this post represents overload to any normal person, let alone a lymie.

Newbies, in general, need to be guided through the process. There's a lot of shocking information that many people simply won't believe or can't understand. Same thing is true for Gigi's information.

For example, one piece of information that I personally struggled with was wrt to my PCP. I just couldn't believe that he didn't know squat about LD and that he wasn't critical about Elisa and WB. I mean, this is not even spelled out clearly anywhere in the "newbies" links...is it? And it's one of the main things to come to terms with before moving on.

Try to go back and being a newbie again. Forget what you know now. Think about what little you knew back then; how much respect you [probably] had for MDs; and how much faith you had in lab tests and antibiotics .

Then all of a sudden you get diagnosed with chronic LD. And if you wanna stand a chance in hell to be cured, you better forget everything you ever thought about antibiotics, lab tests, and qualified MDs and start all over and prepare yourself mentally to accept that there's only one person who has your health as their top priority...YOU! Not your doctor, cause not only does your doctor (even if LLMD) have his own personal agenda and precious little time; but in the end there's actually precious little this doctor can do for you, except to prescribe abx and guide you into some general direction wrt supplements, diet, sleep, exercise, etc.

This is shocking information.

Wish I had the time to help you guys out. But my 2c is the best I have to offer at the present time.

Good luck!

Michael
