WHEW!!! WE made it through the night without losing power!! Yippeeee!!! It was raining hard when I went to bed at 1 a.m. And it was below 32 degrees.
Woke up to the power on!! (insert clapping hands here!)
No, betty...both places are all electric. If the power goes out...we're screwed.
Would love to own a generator!
I found out that my ENT appointment is tomorrow, not today! They messed that up, but I'm glad they did!
Springfield is still frozen. They had a lot of sleet yesterday and it's all a frozen mess.
Thanks for caring, gang! Now I need to tie up lose ends over here. Gotta order cable, internet, etc for new place. Then pack some more!!

Tutu, I asked you to quit sending that bad weather into Louisville from Missouri. Bad weather for us always comes from The Ozark area and your hometown.
We didn't loose power either. Many in city did, due to the many trees that came down. We went from tornadoes last week to 4 inches of snow and then sleet & freezing rain this week. uuuggghhh
Is winter close to being over yet? PLEASE?
Pam

Pretty crazy weather!! They said last night that there weren't many generators available in town because they had been sent to Arkansas and TN for the tornado victims.
From tornadoes to ice...oh the joys!
Sorry to have sent you more bad stuff!!

My new place is all electric-but they said the cables were underground-and not subject to high wind/weather damage.

WEll....I don't know if it's because we're in the Ozarks and it's difficult to put the cables underground [pure ROCK] or if it's just the Ozark mindset....who knows!
Wolfie...I'm hanging in!!

Sounds like what's s'posed to happen tonight here! The electric lines are probably more made-for-it here, though they still come down in bad ice storms. DaveS

Ozarks??? Where the heck are the Ozarks? Next to Timbucktutu?

Imagine a place where giant clear-water lakes feed sparkling mountain rivers, ancient towering bluffs rise above rushing waters, magnificent underground caverns are preserved forever, record-breaking trout play in cool mountain streams, abundant wildlife roam in mountain forests, the night sky shines with the brilliance of the heavens.
Okay, I just "explored" the Ozarks online. Now I'm jealous!

I wish they had more pics online. There are about 30 visible waterfalls there, trout in the streams, lots of wildlife including buffalo, Texas Longhorns [my fav!] and elk.....just a wonderful place!!
We went there last summer and it was literally 10-12 degrees cooler there than above the canyon. Can't wait to go back!
