I live in Brooklyn now, but I grew up in Albany, and it seems the Lyme epidemic is moving up into that area.
I just glanced at "seeking a doctor" and found two recent posts of people searching in the Albany area.
My mother and father (who still live there) have both been bitten. My mother contracted Lyme with Bell's Palsy and other symptoms, and my father recently had a bullseye "bruise" after working in the woods in their yard. (We are trying to convince him to get tested, but it's up to him.)
It's madness.

Really? Wow. I have heard that Westchester County (southern NY State) has an endemic rating. This is where I think I contracted Lyme, since I lived in Westchester for 2 years, and have done a lot of hiking and camping in that area.
But the northern regions of New York, e.g., Albany, always seemed safer. But now it's just awful. My parents' yard is COVERED with ticks. And now they want to put in some tall grasses for landscaping. I love these people, and do not want to rain on their parade. But oy vey already.
Thanks for your reply!

I live in California now, but am from upstate NY and one of my dearest friends called me Thursday of this week to tell me her son who is 16 has Lyme Disease. He has the full blown EM rash and has horrible flu-like symptoms and Pain in his knees etc.... They live in the Albany area near Saratoga Springs NY which is on the NY/Vermont border. It's running rampant everywhere these days. This is just one more confirmed case.
