Hi <<<<< Tinny >>>>>,

Interesting find, I wish this info' had been available 7 or 8 years back.

Our beautiful, Husky/Chow and Wolf mix,Sihayah that we lost in Sept. 2012,had a weird skin infection.

It was like infected blisters or cysts, and even with careful treatment and baths, her Vets' couldn't figure it out.She had ABX and all sorts of things, to try to stop it.

It eventually went from skin and ears, to her kidneys...and we lost her.She had gotten pseudomonis[sp] in her ears first, we got that cleared, and then the skin infection, and allergies started.

I have always wondered what caused it, The cysts weer so weird, and until they healed the fur would stop growing. We had to have her shaved,a huge process as she had the triple coat.

When her fur began to grow again, it grew extra quick and longer over the healed cysts.Poor sweety looked extra comical for awhile. Cause she had these tufts sticking out all over her.

They checked the cysts, but we didn't know what was causing it. I'll always wonder.

Thanks for finding this link, maybe others dogs will not suffer like our sweety, if they can identify the issues sooner.

Jus' Silverwolfi here

How sad - do you know whether this can be treated in dogs?

Silver- sad story. Bless you. Maybe as you said this will help others.

Robin- did you read the study? To answer you I'd have to finish reading all of it, including details in the case studies, which I skimmed thru when I first got it. Sorry I can't read it all right now and search for your answer.

Maybe you could and let us all know? Thanks!

Hi <<<<< Tinny >>>>>,

I haven't figured out, like Robin' was mentioning,if it is treatable yet either. I cannot make my brain wrap around stuff right now.

My apologies for the long post about my dog, she was such a sweet heart, and She loved my Dad,when he got to visit in 2010,so it's doubly hard right now. And as I said I'll always wonder if it was Lyme/Morgellons related.

Glad you found the link and posted it, it'll be interesting to see,if they do come up with treatment options.

Better close for now before I turn back into -Long-winded Silverwolfi- ... OWooowooooo!

Sorry, had the flu for a couple days and was out of reading commission...

I scrolled down for the clinical discussion. Seems that most dogs were given doxycycline, also were given cephalaxin and cephalosporin, metronidizole and azithromycin.

Plus prednisone was given to take down swelling, and other topicals were given to heal the ulcerations - bunch of meds listed for that.

Looks like the dogs either got better or somewhat better.
