Hi Everybody,

I have been eating this soup for a year, and thought I'd share it here. Think it will be good for yeast free diets.

GREEN SOUP RECIPE

3 lrg. onions chopped

3-4 cloves of garlic chopped

1/2 bunch of green onions chopped

2-3 carrots sliced (optional)

1 lrg. package of spinach - rinsed well

Can use spinach and swiss chard if preferred

2 skinless boneless chicken breasts or 4 chicken thighs.

I use a 5 quart pot.

Add all ingredients with chicken on top.

Add water to cover. Then cover with herb and garlic seasoning and turmeric.

Bring to boil, than simmer for 1.5 hours.

Let cool. Break chicken apart with clean hands.

If you don't want raw chicken on top, make broth first and then add vegatables.

Very nice not strong.

If you have a stock pot, double ingredients.

Thought I'd share it, lots of people like it.

If you like it, let me know.

I eat this than freeze rest in small batches for later, when don't feel like cooking.

Take Care

Yummmy!

I got hungry just reading the recipe. Lots of anti-oxidants, anti viral, immune stuff in there.

JC loathes vegetables but doesn't seem to realize when I "hide" them in soups. Especially if I puree)

The whole family loves when I slow cook things and with the cold weather coming this idea is great.

Thanks !!!

love,
andie

Hey!

My son and I have been thriving on a variation if this soup for months. I make a new batch every week, and freeze two thirds of it so we have soup every day.

I use lots of Swiss Chard, onion, and I do more like twenty cloves of garlic with fesh parsley and rosemary, carrots, celery (all veggies organic, don't want pesticides in the broth) 4 organic chicken breasts with skin on while cooking (the lipids are good immune food), and just a very sparse amount of wild rice for texture. ..and after it's "soup"..the garlic is not overpowering at all.

It's delicious, and I can feel the nutrients going in when I eat it.. nice to have it ready all the time.

The old addage of soup when your sick applies to us as well!!

Thanks for the post,
Mo

Hi,

Glad you are enjoying the soup. I have changed it a few times too. I really like it with rice. It was orginally given to me with swiss chard only, no spinach and I changed that or variate between the two.
