Well, there ya have it. An hour showed that did give *some* valid points about lyme disease, yet at the same token, definately did downplay it

"give her a course of abx".

So, season finale for Joan of Arcadia, correct? And since this is a show that is watched often and is coming back to air, do you think that if we email them enough

that perhaps, when they come back for the next season that just MAYBE that "Joan" could do a ten minute skit or SOMETHING

anything on how in her last episode, she was sick with lyme.. but it CAN be a very devastating disease, and some other very important tips.

YA just never know. They may do it, they may not. BUT think of it this way...

they either decided to link Lyme to her hallucinations because they needed a plot to the end show.. and flagrantly searched the internet for anythign that can cause mental illness or hallucinations

OR someone on that show knows someone who had lyme disease, etc.

If the former is true, we MAY just get a skit. Wishful hoping, but I'm emailing.

Jodie

I could relate to the line... I feel like a hummer ran me over. Only, I thought it was a fully loaded semi truck.

I kept putting detour signs in front of my house, but those darn trucks continued to run me over in my sleep at night.

After watching the show, it appeared to me that it had to be written by someone experienceing the disease or knew of someone that was suffering from the disease. The fact that they said she could have been harboring it for awhile actually surprised me.

I think it is to early to know where the writers are going to take this. The fact that her mom had an experience with God and her dad had that experience with that mother I believe was a setup to show that her talking to God was not a series of hallucinations. And the fact that God appeared at the very end while she was sleeping makes it more apparent to me anyways that Lyme will not be blamed.

Lyme disease was not meant to be the main topic of the show. I think it was being used by the writers as the basis for a crisis of faith.

I feel that it was chosen though because it was important to someone on the production staff. The real test will be if she continues to struggle with the disease next season.

I really don't think they'll continue talking about LD in the new season. The most they'll probably do is show her taking abx once in a while. Once her crisis of faith is resolved,it will be a dead issue.

(Kam,the new season will start around Sep/Oct)
