I was just reading lymenet this morning and noticing all the Marylanders writing.

Do we rank number 4 or 6 for endemic lyme?

Take care everyone, tick season is in full bloom.
And wishing everyone a great summer and recovery from these dreaded TBDs.

I was just thinking the same thing. Although I live in PA. When I was a child, my family spent every weekend every summer camping in MD.

My Aunt & Uncle had a summer place in Norheast MD. We went there for swimming and boating at Halloway(sp?) Beach.

I was infected as a child - so I wonder if I was infected there, or at home in Southeast PA? Either way, I am very close to the MD border - only about 45min. to an hour away.

Yes but............I got lyme in 1963 in either Michigan or Indiana. It's just a shame I had to move to Maryland to get a real diagnosis..........so, if I was reported to the CDC it would list me as living in Maryland...........

We live on the GREAT lower Eastern Shore of Md.
We have all our life.
We know we were bite here. My husband and I both grew up doing all kinds of deer and other hunting. We live in the country and yes we have lots of ticks around here.

The Lyme has affected our life greatly. We are only 35. Every day is still a struggle...

But, we do love where we live, and would never move.

The Chesapeake Bay is Great!!!

The sad thing is, even though I've lived my entire life in Maryland, never once have I really heard about Lyme Disease! It's surprises me!

My sister's best friend had a good friend with Lyme Disease and she was supposedly cured in a few years but other than that, Lyme was something you heard about on the Discovery Channel or something.

We had ticks everywhere - on our cats, on us when we played outside (we had a small wooded area in our back yard and behind our back yard and the park we went to was wooded), in the house, etc. Never once did anyone worry about them. They were just 'gross'.

My sister's mother/father in law live over the Bay Bridge on the Eastern Shore. I love that area but could never do the commute on a daily basis over that bridge, especially when there's so much traffic.
