I'm going to be paying for one of these, out of pocket, next week just to get it over and done with. It doesn't make sense for me to keep going to LabCorp to get tested when I'm going to test negative over and over again.

I know I can get the two tests from Igenex for $180. I believe Bowen tests for more stuff for $250. The difference in cost is not a problem since it's worth it and not that much more...

Which one is better? Is one better than the other result-wise (as in, is one more sensitive?)? Is it better to get all the tests done at Bowen than just two with Igenex?

Dr S (the LLMD) mentioned that one lab he will no longer use because all the tests are always positive - nothing is ever negative and that can't be right. Could he be talking about the Bowen lab?

Just curious. It seems that more people on the forum mention Igenex than Bowen.

Probably Bowen, they will test for all co-infections.

You should be checked for the co-infections too, not just lyme. Add up the costs from
IGenex on that one.

Oh, just re-read your post and we go to the same dr. I wondered why he was not using one. My support group says Bowen is great.
You will get pictures along with everything and results back in 1 or 2 days.

Didn't dr. s test you on your first visit?
He uses IGenex.

The only problem I can see with using Bowen, is that most doctors do not know what they are looking at and can't read the test results...Igenex is very clear and they test all the bands which all doctors are familiar with.

He is probably talking about Igenex and as evedienced on this board, there are plenty of negatives with Igenex.

First off, you need to get an LLMD, otherwise you are walking backwards in mud knee deep.

Sounds like you doc, no matter what test you get, will still not believe that you could have LD.

Get to an LLMD as soon as possible and stop fooling around...your time is a wasting.

My opinion only. My experience.

Dr S in Chadds Ford, Pa, not Dr S in Chevy Chase/DC.

Dr S had me test for all coinfections through LabCorp - which was negative. LabCorp is the only lab my insurance will pay for and that's why Dr S said to go with LabCorp first.

Dr S uses MDL, which I have heard bad things about (well, some bad, some good). Anyway, it will be at least $1100 to get tested by MDL. Bowen or Igenex seems to be a better deal for the price!
