I wondered if this quote is true....what do you think you are learning from your lyme journey?
"All trial comes into our lives for a reason, regardless of what it is and how it defines itself."
-- Oprah
This sounds odd, but there is a part of me that is thankful for getting this darned disease.
I am learning how to listen to my body.
Pre-lyme I have always had trouble saying no, and quite frequently over-extended myself - to the point of physical and emotional exhaustion.
I would also, quite frequently, sacrifice my well-being to help others out.
I am learning how to make priorities and do only those things that mean the most. I have actually learned how to 'relax' FINALLY.
I have always been a relatively healthy person, so this has given me a much needed lesson in 'all things are not perfect'.
However, I won't say that it has been a completely pleasant journey
I am learning I am just as valuable whether or not I get a lot accomplished each day.
It is different from being lazy. It is being realistic at this point and putting my health first.
PS Your post on medical was part of the reason I started this post Smiles.

Tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift

Kam - You're awesome!!
So true! Our health and wellness is of utmost priority.
If we don't at least try to take care of ourselves, how can we begin help others?
I also like your quote about Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.
I have learned so much from my Lyme journey that I don't even know where to start!
I have learned that life is vulnerable and we must enjoy and value as precious time with our loved ones.
I have learned that I work to live rather than live to work.
I have learned the toughness of my inner stregth.
I have learned that I was unaware of the number of people who love me.
I have learned a lot about the marvelous workings within the human body.
I have learned that people are good at heart.
I have learned all about second chances and my faith has only grown stronger by having dealt with Lyme.
Hope y'all have a GREAT day!
