Just my luck. I was cleaning out the tub for the little one to take a bath and discovered a dead tick behind the shampoo bottle. UGH!

I put it in a Ziploc bag and carefully examined it with a magnifying glass and then hopped over to Lymenet's photo gallery. It's a tick alright!

I called my husband and asked him "have you been having any wierd symptoms?" He said no. I checked the girls head to toe and nothing. Well, except for the "bite mark" behind my little one's ear. I actually noticed it over the weekend. It looked like a "reversed" mosquito bite. If that makes sense.

I asked her how she's feeling and she said fine. I'm hoping that if the dead tick and her bite are connected that all of the immune boosting supplements that she is on will keep her one step ahead of infection.

I'm not in a panic yet, but I can feel it starting to brew.

I know cave. That's the hard part. I think I'm so programmed now to err on the side of caution. I agree, she might very well just have a mosquito bite. She did say that it was "itchy".

But, this is the very first tick that we have seen in our house. Very alarming. I'm not sure if I'm going to have it tested or not. Especially since we don't know for sure if it was even attached to any of us.

Just so creepy!

Hey Nancy,

She was complaining tonight about an itchy bite now on the top of her head. I am going to start parting hair and looking in the morning.

Hi frenchbraid,

If it is a tick bite, you'll be on top of the problem, so she is in good hands.

We'll all be thinking about you and your daughter.

Hello, I am not sure about where you are but in Indiana the Board of Health is now collecting ticks for testing. I just took one in this month. They said I should recieve a copy of the test results from the lab.
You might want to check with them in your area. The environmentalist is the one you would need to speak to. Hope this is of some help!
We will be praying for your little one!
