Well I have been too healthy to come visit. I know that is kind of selfish of me seeing how much I recieved from everyone here but to be up and about has overwhelmed me
I have actually started to train again (for those of you who don't remember, yeah lymeies remembering, I was a triathlete). It is baby steps compared to what I was doing but it is something and compared to the week I spent not able to walk at all, well just plain hallaujah!!!!
What I have been doing since July 4th is I marked out a 2 mile course near my house. First day I walked it. Then the next time I ran about 200 yards of it. Now I run a mile of it and walk the rest!!!! I will keep at the mile walk/run for a few more weeks then I will increase it till I can do the whole thing. My goal being doing a 5K in just about two months time.
I want to send the chest number they give you to my LLMD with a pic of my crossing the finish line along with a thank you letter.
I have already lost over 25lbs. But that has been over longer than just July.
Thanks SOOOOO MUCH for all the love and support I will endeavor to return what I have recieved, but I don't see how that will be possible.
May God's best be all of yours

But it's such great news to hear the progress you're making.
Please promise that you'll give us updates from time to time so we'll know you're OK.
And, by all means, let us know if you run the 5K in two months so we can all be cheering for you!!
You'll have the biggest cheering squad of anyone there.
Love hearing these success stories!!!!!!
Thank you all so much again

Not just medical info, but also a big emotional boost when some of us needed it.
I think it was Dr Norman Vincent Peale who said - "Find a need and fill it."
That's what you've done.
Now you can go out & educate people you meet.
That's filling a "Lyme need", too.
It's like throwing a pebble in a pond....you never know how far the ripples will go.
If you have the time, we'd love to have you continue to contribute.
Be assured, dear friend, you'll definitely be missed by a lot of us if you stay away too long.
Glad you are doing so well...awesome!!!
Other than my recent 6 day stay in the hospital for the encephalitis, I too have been relatively lyme free and enjoying every second of it.
I am gardening again and my yard is in full bloom..it is such a great feeling to feel well. Yet for some reason in the past, I have a few good months and then relapse. Maybe it will be different this time...
I have been off all meds since April and other than the encephalitis, I have been feeling pretty darn good.
here's hoping that you continue to feel well and that someday all who have this disease, can experience a day when they too can wake up feeling healthy and feel like they can take on the world!
God Bless,
~Missy

Running? Wow!!I was glad to go upstairs this summer.Good luck!!
I remember that you and I started posting around the same time last year. You were always someone whose posts I always read and respected. That is terrific news!! Makes me smile.
I, too, have been "away". For the first time in 12 years I know what it is to feel normal! (ok, normal health, still abnormal personality
) I'm going on 3 weeks of no symptoms and loving life again. I'm still on abx (until I'm 3 months symptom-free) so, who knows?
My great LLMD, Dr. J. in W.PA, told me once that it takes an average of around 18 months for those like us with late disseminated disease to be better. (based on his 17 yrs. treating lyme) So I guess that makes us "below average" Ha ha! Sent, you're definately a high-average kind of guy, to all of us
Now that I'm off Levaquin, I'm beginning to walk for exercise again. I'll be thinking of you running when I'm out there! hooray! Thanks for posting :

Wow!
I'm jealous!
Maybe I should try something of the sort.
I have been excercising - but not really measuring my accomplishments.
Anyway, keep up the good work and visit whenever you have some time!
Im so happy for you. It must feel so good be getting out there and exercising again.
I wish you the best.
If i ever do switch to your LLMD, i will let you know. He sure did a great job with you!!
I told my dr. that i want to be able to ski in January. I guess i have high hopes, since im just starting my third month of treatment.
Good luck to you and keep in touch.

Of course you have been missed...was there any doubt?
I am just SO pleased that you are feeling so much better! Keep it up!
I have a goal to be running again by Christmas too! Hope it works out for both of us!
I am also so thrilled to know of the positive progression with the others who have replied here...goodness, there seems to be something catching...feeling good- what a novel concept!
May I ask that some of you reply on the success stories post as Cave mentioned? It is always great to know when you are doing better, and I do think it really inspires much hope for those new to this and looking for some comfort.

I too have been doing very well...just overdoing a bit much, and paying for it a little. So, please take it slowly, OK?
Tree-hugger, I also seem to perspire
more than most when I get going...have for a very long time. I never really correlated this with TBDs, but it is an interesting theory...
Much love,
M
