I would sure like new ideas for breakfasts. I'm trying to work on a yeast problem, so my cereal that I usually eat is off limits right now. Most cereals are high carb, although, I do eat oatmeal quite frequently.
Eggs are an option, but I'm not an egg lover so much, therefore, I'm losing the breakfast battle.
Anyone know of any good protein drinks. I haven't tried that yet.
Really would appreciate breakfast ideas.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have bought some cereals at the Health Food Store, but the expense...Wow!
I did buy Kelloggs low carb Special K cereal which has 5 g fiber (I need that), and l4 g carbs and other carbs are 7 g (and I don't know what "other carbs" are), sugar 2 g.
Serving size is only 3/4 of a cup. If I measure it, that's such a small amount...so I just don't measure! It's pretty good.
Another one I've gotten is GM low carb Total Protein cereal. It has 8 g carbs but only l g fiber (not enough for me), protein l4 g and l g sugar. Also, that's for only 3/4 cup. I just pour it in and eat!
I will try the Q-smart bars. Sounds good.
I can't go ham and cheese for breakfast or the tuna. Lunch, maybe! Maybe, I'll just fill up on coffee...decaf...of course!

I only do this some days when I feel the need for something sweet.
Also, eggs are always a good thing for those of us watching our carbs. You can doctor them up with cheese. Fry some Spam slices and serve scrambled eggs on top. I always top off this with Salsa, ummm, good.

How about a healthier egg beaters with fat free cream cheese with green (most likely to be yeast friendly) vegetables?
And, I haven't had egg beaters for a while, either. Will try your suggestion, Rita, with cream cheese and maybe some green onions.

They have some good ideas. Or you could just call them up and see what they suggest.
If you are not familiar with their products, it is difficult to know what to order.
1 part ground faxseeds
1 part ground almonds
1/2 part oat bran
1 part protein powder, whey or rice protein
You can toast the nuts before grinding if you want. Add boiling water till you get the texture you like. The flax will thicken it up.
I use stevia to sweeten, and pour on some thick cream.
You could also play with adding other nuts and seeds. Cinnamon is good.
Only use the whey protein if you are not taking your antibiotics at the same time.
2 eggs
1/2 cup of ricotta
1/4 whey or rice protein powder
1/2 t baking powder
1/8 t salt
Mix eggs and ricotta till well combined, then add other ingredients. Cook by T full on hot oiled skillet.
Use sugar free syrup, butter, cinnamon and stevia, a few mashed berries, whatever you like to garnish.
1/2 cup peanut butter or other nut butter
good tasting whey protein powder
stevia or splenda
Mix protein powder into nut butter till it is stiff. Add enough sweetener to taste. Some almond butters don't even need sweetening!
Roll into balls. You can roll the balls in coconut, cocoa powder, ground nuts, anything you like. Great to carry for snacks.

riversinger, I love these recipes! I've never used protein powder and will buy the whey. The cereal sounds great, plus the pancakes with ricotta and protein snacks will be a well-needed change from my breakfast rut. And like Rosemary said, the syrup with pancakes satisfies a sweet tooth. Breakfast will be a whole lot better.
I do use almond butter a lot...but prefer peanut butter, with chunks, of course. Anxious to make the protein snacks. Great idea. Seems I'm always digging around for snacks.
Cave, you're right. Yep, good ole bacon and eggs...got so many other problems, don't even worry about cholesterol anymore.

I've also tried Odwalla Almond Soy Shakes.
Sorry to be the bearere of bad news, but: to all the folks who are eating "low carb" or "Atkins" products - they are still bad for yeast! They have come up with this new formula for net carbs. Net carbs deals with the metabolism, and therefore how it impacts your weight. So all those snack bars, cereals and protein drinks are helping the yeast.
Two quick easy breakfasts I do are:
hot dogs, Hebrew National are one of the few without sweeteners or starch fillers
turkey meat, I get it sliced fresh because most of the packaged has corn syrup
Another thing, which I use as a snack because I take my abx at breakfast is plain yogurt with peanutbutter.
I cook big at dinner, pack the leftovers in individual servings, making breakfast very easy.
A tossed salad with salmon or chicken is great at breakfast time!

I just found something that is very easy.. just open the package and shove it in your mouth.
And surprize surprize... it tastes good!!!
I didn't know it could be a breakfast cereal too.. I thought it was just a snack.
It is called...
FlaxMeal Granola... Cinnamon Nutrageous.
Handmade.. oven baked.. one gram carb per serving.
It comes in a red and tan striped re-sealable bag.. with yellow writing.
I bought mine at Vitamin World in the low carb section.
VERY good.
I just eat it dry.. and it isn't that rock hard granola... it's soft for teeth that don't like chewing lots of hard stuff.

I just saw a commercial about french toast, which sounds pretty good. So....I'll try making it with low carb bread and use Take Control and sugarless syrup.
A really good low carb bread is one they sell at Panara's. It's the Rosemary Walnut bread, not cheap, but yummy. I like it toasted with lots of Take Control or PB or almond butter.

YUCK, is what I think of them, and in a few weeks or so I can prob eat them again.
I am glad Rita, you reminded us all about the total CARB thing.....we are so mislead sometimes. It is just sooooo hard to eat properly throughout the day.
Sometimes I do have leftovers, I do not have to have "traditional" breakfast foods. This morning I had leftover onion, squash, bell pepper that was stir fried with olive oil. Could not have eaten an egg this morning at all.....yuck!
I too would love to try some of the suggestions hear, the protien ball sounds good, but I will use my splenda with it.

Bacon usually fills me up and its like a treat (not everyday)--but whats also good is
to saute onions, peppers, and mushrooms then scramble eggs on them-yum! You could add cheese or tomatoes also.
I saw a container of cream of wheat in the cupboard just today---lots of people don't like it but I do---I guess I need to throw it out---it sure aint on Atkins
