Another question- have any of you experienced very cold hands?

I feel as if ice water is running through my veins- and it's worse if I actually get them wet.

My LLMD told me this was neuro- I understand the term but I really don't know how it affects my brain and if I'll get worse.

Stomach is better- tooth was pulled- Rocephin isn't that bad- life is good today!

Or I did several days ago, figured it was a herx. Very strang indeed.....the icy cold feeling when I washed my hands.

If you don't get treated you might grow icicles on your finger tips.

This becomes very much of a problem .. especially when trying to use the bath room.

You sure expect a lot.. don't ya?

The infection can affect your brain.. the brain function.. the organs producing hormones... and other needed chemicals, etc.

Could be as simple as the wrong messages going from the brain to the hypothylumus or thyroid glands.. in which case the signals are not saying to regulate your temperature like they normally would be.

OR..

It could be the nerves not functioning properly and they are not sending the message to the brain that more warmed blood is needed in certain areas.

OR..

It could be the nerves in your hands, arms, spinal column, are not communicating due to infection or not being fed proper signals.

Unless you allow me to biopsy your brain.. assuming I could actually FIND it...

I can't say for sure what exactly is causing this specific problem.

That is why the term "neuro" was invented.

It is a catch all phrase the doctors use to cover up the fact they don't know exactly why either.

Once treated properly.. it should get better.

And truthfully..

THAT is what you REALLY wanted to know.

Hi, Just wondered if you'd changed any meds. or added new ones?

This freezing hands and feet i had as well on the occasion of changing antidepressant and beginnning the drug Neurotnin.

It was miserable because I couldn't get warm. I ended up using those cuddle things that you can stick in the microwave to warm. They have them for your hands, neck, back etc.

I stopped the new meds after a week of this and finally it went away. So side effects was the cause of mine. Check your meds. for side effects or as Tincup said, could be the neuro responses acting up. Wishing you the best
