Do any of you know people who fully recovered from Lyme Disease?

If you do, then please make your reply enclude:

how long they had Lyme,
how long they were treated,
the medication they were on,
and their symptoms.

THANK YOU!

This is asked so many times on here its not funny, I know there are a few posts that circulate about this and one titled "Success stories" that you can do a search on to find.

If I did know someone that recovered from lyme ( I do, but) I wouldnt know the answer to all those questions!

Good morning,

Here is the link to the post that Jodie is referring to.
I hope that it will give you some hope during your dark times.

You will see that each one is so different, that it is difficult to predict any one singular `way' to recovery.

BUT, yes, it is possible, and more probable than you may have imagined!

My very best,
Melanie

There is a lady in the same small town I live in that lives a normal life now after lyme.

She too could not walk to the corner and crawled to the bathroom when she first came down with lyme.

Your questions are very valid. I have asked why we don't have a questionnaire that we send out to people and follow up in order to collect data.

The problem seems to be time and money. Unlike MS or other diseases, we are not sponsored by drug companies. People volunteer their time and money to help out the cause.

We do need to change that somehow someway.

My doc also was dx with MS and treated for 5 years before finding out he really had lyme disease.

He says life is good now.

I also heard from another lady when I first came down with this that is back to living a normal life now.

And there is the lady that was in my doctor's office who said she had lyme a long time before having a label for it and being treated.

She had been seeing my doc for 3 years at that point. She said she is back to being 95% of being normal.

It is a very valid question. And I wish we did have the data.

I have often thought about collecting the data or starting a web site on line with the questionnaire.

But, at this point...I am doing well just making sure I get 3 meals in me each day and perhaps get out and about for a short period of time in my power chair.

Afterall the turtle did win the race.
