for a while we thought it was lyme related or from my meds but it looks like it is male pattern baldness ugh... seems kinda young for me to be experiencing this at 20 years old. I thought this was something I would have to worry about when I was like 30 or 40 when I was already married and had kids haha. not while I am in college. I mean there is a possibility that it could be from the lyme disease itself maybe. but no one has given me a real explanation as to how lyme would cause hair loss. the hair loss is not generalized. it is definitely on top of my head just like if one was to have androgenetic alopecia. I am using rogaine right now and I am getting referred to a dermotologist for he/she to take a look and maybe prescribe me propecia. I am also looked into some of that hair transplant stuff but it is very expensive

I had that problem for years. I could feel the hair as it slid down my back, arms, etc. My hair also became brittle and broke off. I ended up cutting my hair short for the first time in my life and I am ashamed to admit that it was painful. My vanity sometimes loses to this disease as well.
The Rosephin and LOTS of supplement prescribed by a gastrologist helped and I have almost no hair in the bottom of the tub, in my hair brushes, etc.
Good Luck I know how hard it is when every part of the body seems to be in betrayal.

Here is a link that will show you how to do a LymeNet search...Dan has so graciously walked a person through how to do just that.
I gave you that link in order for you to do a search. Just use the keyword, hair or hairloss, and do so in not only General, but, Medical forum as well since there are more posts on this subject over in Medical.
Seriously, there has been a pleathra of information discussed on this subject.
Rosemary
PS, if you cannot do the search yourself for some reason or the other, then let me know and I'll link you up with a ton of posts on just this subject.
BTW, too, my llmd says in all his patients over many years, he has yet to see one of his patients go bald whether from treatment or the disease itself.
I am currently in my 3rd or 4th bout with hairloss in nearly 2 years of treatment.
