Hi Gang, The people beside my work place treated their grass with toxic chems. I am broke out in terrible hives again. Scratching in pain and agony.I am not shure if it is the yard chems or if I am getting alergic to the benzathine penn.. It is just like chiggers but it is to cold here for that. It is like lots of spyder bites ,it is arround the belt line mainly. I can;t sleep ,I can't relax!!!! Could it be a herx??? I wan't out of my body with no itching!!! I was sent to the emergency room once by yard chems.. MADDOG P.S. WWAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!1

Maddog,

this sounds like it could be shingles. If it is you need to get started on the right meds right away. Please go to the emergency room. If you get started within 72 hours, you will have a much easier time.

Yes I will second that vote for shingles. Sounds just like them. Or maybe just an allergic reaction to a new belt or jeans? I usually figure these things out later than sooner. Good luck and try some benadryl cream and pills. But a professional opinion could help here. Or is their ANY chance you could just ask the neighbors to where you are thinking and see what they just applied. IF they know its causing such a severe problem, they may think twice for next time. I would, and not apply it again. Plus you know what to do to counter. But I am --just don--

Hey Maddog...

I wish we were in your state, my husband just started a 100% organic lawn care service this year!! No chemicals!!!

I don't think anyone really knows what health problems all those chemicals cause! And for what???? Green grass???

Even if you didn't get sick from the chemicals, maybe you could check for a company out there that doesn't use chemicals and give it to the people next to your work.

As if you're not busy enough with the Lyme battle..... Sorry, it's one of my passions!!!

Hope you feel better soon!!!!

I'm so sorry your suffering so much...

sorry i dont know what to tell ya aboutfinding releif...

I wish it was chiggers cuz I know how to get rid of them... the stuff u use on lice.

If it is an allergic reaction its kinda weird it just picked on spot unless your skin came in contact with it.

Best wishes

Yes, I agree. My first thought was Shingles. My son had it around his belt line. The rash looked similar to what you'd expect from chiggers, but he had nerve discomfort-not just on the skin surface.

Oh, maybe I should say instead of Shingles, some sort of outbreak from the herpes family. I've broken out with what looks like cold sores (herpes family) but on my chin. I started with this problem when my Lyme started and it comes and goes throughout the years--mostly when I am stressed or physically exhausted (which was most of the time).

I had a break in Bicillin shots (they were on backorder) then when restarting them, my face broke out. That's what made me tie it in with some sort of herpes virus. The sun will flare it up, too. And, I figure with the Bicillin, maybe my immune system was weakened enough for the rash to break out again.

Sounds like it could be Shingles too. I had it last July on my left side of my neck and around the back of my head. It was mis diagnosed as an alergic reaction to some medication I was on for Bronchitis or something. Three days later I was propperly diagnosed and the visible signs went away, but it was painful for a while. I have scars now and some numbness, but no pain. I was on Neurontin for a while but I don't remember what actually got rid of the Shingles.

Sorry if this is too much info, but I thought I'd share my experience just in case that is what you have.

Hi Gang,The doc. didn't think it is shingles because I have it all over. He didn't think it is hives, but some other sort of alergic reaction. He wanted to give me prednizone I questioned him on that and he changed it to a non steroidal alergy med.,for now. he is taking blood work to check for liver problems. MADDOG

Hey there MD,

Sorry to hear about the itchees. Hope and pray they find out the cause soon.

Personally I wouldn't take the Prednisone either. When I was on it, before being diagnosed with Lyme, it went RAMPANT.

Nothing worse than Lyme on a rampage!! Except maybe a woman scorned.......or PMS with no chocolate in site.........but I digress.

Keep us posted!!

Hi,No real answer .the meds prescribed to hopefully work in place of the prednizone were terrible.( Periactin) was terrible I couldent sleep was paseing the floor bumping into walls all night in a terrible fix. Allmost fell asleep driving to work spacey, slurred speech, out of it from just one pill. i broke out into more spots but now they are going into the dead center scab thing quicker. Redish pinkish to maroon spots ,very itchy, get a dead center and scab over about the size of dimes. What is this crap!!!! MADDOG

Have you changed laundry detergent??? or softner??

I had a horrid time with soaps. Everyone made me itch and my skin crawl. I even tried Ivory with no luck. What it was was the PH level soaps tend to have a very high ph level (base) and for some reason it irriated my skin. Dove was and is the only soap I can use that dosen't cause me to breakout and itch like crazy. I know I am clutching at staws but couldn't hurt.

Maddog,
A bath with aveeno might be a relief. There are also lots of lotions that relieve itching, ask the pharmacist. In fact, show him your skin and tell him you need something for itching - you may get a diagnosis!

I would sure go for another opinion at a clinic or ER nearby. That site Lymealive sent it really excellent, though it sure made me itch!

The idea of chickenpox is not far-fetched (pun intended for the good pooch)as the kind of herpes virus that causes it stays through your life and causes shingles.

save's idea about Dove soap is good. It is the best for me too.

Hope you get some relief soon!

Maddog,

All soaps burn my skin. Only kind I can use is Allenburys. Have been using it since I was 17 and that's 35 years.

Don't know if avail in US.

Anyone know?

Hi Gang,it was so strange these itchy bumps. I had forgot that on the way home thursday a week ago I passed a giant farm spray truck going in the oposite direction and my little Sammy truck got totally sprayed with farm chems with me inside,on a state highway.I had to drive it home with my throat burning .I then washed the truck even before going in the house. Then they sprayed the yards beside my workplace with the same stuff. I have been chemically BURNT. The people in this rual county have no sence of chem. use. It is raining here today again and I am a lot better. I supect they will spray the snow here this winter. They won't ever stop even for winter. The farm coop is probably right now rigging their spray trucks with giant spray tank heaters so they can continue spraying in january. And the yard sprayin idiots are probably rigging skee snow makers to spray yards with fake snow with chems in it. THEY WONT STOP poisoning me and the planet.BASTARDS!!!!!!! MADDOG
