My LLMD said it's eczema, brought on by the lyme, and prescribed Elidel. It's a non-steroidal topical cream specifically for eczema. It's helped..not perfect..but definitely better.

My dots aren't hive-like (I get those, too!), so I don't know if this sounds like your rash, but maybe you could look into it.

i have heard that term but don't know what it is. i was going to do a post today on that myself...

i don't think it is necessarily bad to take veterinary abx. i know someone else who does. in your case i think you mentioned $$$ reasons. i'd think better to take those than nothing IMO.

i'd sure stay away from prednisone too. that's just me. i've reacted badly to that before.

i use clearasil on the 'spots'. i used to think it was poison oak going through my system. ??? who knows, it may be.

if i remember right you cut firewood? i help dh with that and there is always poison oak and ivy involved! with our screwy immune systems it could just be that we don't get rid of it normally.

anyway, clearasil gets mine.

It sounds to me like you may be having an allergic reaction to your abx. Just because you've been on it for five months doesn't mean you can't develop an allergic reaction. I'd taken Bactrim for 20 years (not steadily, of course), but you get the idea and had worsening reactions up to and including serum sickness, anaphylaxis, etc.

BUT, please keep in mind the following before you think about taking Prednisone. Just read it recently and thought it was worth passing along...

1. Avoid steroid drugs unless your doctor feels there is no alternative for an acute situation. Steroids suppress the immune system and are hazardous to Lyme patients unless treatment is limited to very short periods. Your recovery depends on you taking charge and doing everything possible to boost your immune system!

The rash I have had would itch more at times than other times. What aggrevated it the most was the Doxy, fresh veggie drinks & beef. That is just what I noticed towards the end. There were lot's of times it just flared up and I didn't know why.

Once I started with high amounts of enzymes (oxy-Forte 5000) it started fading. Then months later I had to take pergesteron for something else and it really put a jump start on it going away.

I still do not eat allot of red meat. I stick with chicken and I still do not eat allot of veggies unless it is organic. Otherwise the pesticides on the regular veggies effected me so I do not take the risk now.

Steroids (just one shot) is what sent the rash into my eyes and nearly took my eyesight.

Once I got off all abx and paid attention to the Candida is when all this started turning around and I regained my health.

Now the red bumps left white dot's on my skin. Some are brown on my leg's and they are getting lighter.

I still take Lavender oil hot baths and message my lymph glands daily.

All the creams in the world did not help. It came from diet and enzymes.
