I want everyone on here to know that you are among the things I'm thankful for this year, and every year in my Lyme journey. You are what keep me going when I'm having a hard time (along with a very supportive family and a small group of loyal friends). You're all angels in my eyes. Thanks!

This year I'm also thankful for my family.

I'm thankful for a few really good online friends who, even though they're not close physically are always here with me when I'm having trouble.

I'm thankful for the opportunity I had this fall to organize and participate in the first Lyme Out Retreat with such a wonderful group of people.

I'm thankful for Christmas carols that always manage to lift my spirits (thank goodness for radio stations that play nothing but Christmas carols around this time of year).

So, what are YOU thankful for?

--Annie

My blessings are too numerous to count.

Not just the good things in life, but also being given the strength to get through so many troubling times in the last 10 yrs...
Losing my father to Lyme disease (after a mis-diagnosis of Alzheimer's), losing my mother and last year, my brother, and my surviving breast cancer in Jan of 2000.

My list of things I'm thankful for is typical - my family, friends, this great country, all the men & women in the military who are serving to keep us safe, wonderful memories of holidays in the past, & on & on.

Right near the top of that list is LymeNet - with all the wonderful, caring people who have helped me so much when I needed info.
Because of all of you, I'm feeling better than I have in many years & I've been off antibiotics for 18 months.
Without LymeNet, it never would have happened.

Then, right at the top of the list is my Guardian Angel who has put me in the right place at the right time on so many occasions.

Sounds strange to say it, but for me, having Lyme disease is a big blessing.
If I had NOT had Lyme & had not worked with the Lyme Disease Network of South Carolina, my 12 yr old grandson never would have been diagnosed with Lyme.

Thank you to all who have helped me on this difficult part of my journey through life.

On this Thanksgiving Day, I give thanks for all the blessings in my life!!

I'm thankful for one particular person in my life who comes through time and time again with hope, and understanding. Who nooodges me relentlessly on, when I'd rather give up. I'm grateful because this person sees good things in me that I sometimes don't recognize in myself. Their presence in my life has made everyday since 'a present'.

I'm also thankful, for my family and friends, but especially for my two boys. Being a mother has been my greatest blessing so far.

I'm thankful for the optimism I have inside that allows me to keep going and reaching for a better tomorrow.

I'm also thankful for Lymenet and all the colorful characters here who brighten my everyday. Quite a few people like myself lurk more than post, but it doesn't mean Lymenet ia any less important to us.

Happy Thanksgiving

Wow, where do I begin? I started to just say "Everything"....but that's too easy. It would honor God to say what I'm really thankful for.

I'm thankful for my family, my church family, my friends, and my Lymenet family!

I'm thankful that we have been able to move out of our RV! We've lived in that thing for 9 long years. Not easy for anyone, but especially not easy for a Lymie with arthritis. Nothing is at your fingertips, believe me! [you'd have to have lived in one to understand that one!]

I'm thankful for my new business, which I just love! It's so gratifying to be able to help others with their health! To see their health improve is the ultimate!

And I'm grateful for all the improvements the mangosteen has made in my own life. It's changed me from the inside out!

And I'm grateful that my parents made sure I went to church as a child, so I could become a person of faith. Without it, my life would not be so full of joy! Living with Jesus is the ultimate!

So hey, everyone.......Happy Thanksgiving!

I am so very thankfull for God, for my family, my Church family and my wonderful Pastor who has helped me though alot this past year.

I am thankfull for my health because reguardless of the hardships I and my family have faced their are many who are in far greater pain and need than us. Some right here at Lymenet. Our hearts and prayers go out to them.

I always try to relize and find strength in the fact that no matter how grim things look, someone else may look at my life and see something greater than their own, so why can't I see that for myself.

I am so very thankfull for the gifts that God has bestowed on me and my family this Thanksgiving. I will continue to give him thanks every day of the year.

I also thank him for all of you here and answering my prayers of a Diognosis for my Illness. Allso Thanks for the new road I have just turned down. The road to recovery!

God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving!
Cindy

While I'm thankful for so many things this year, I am thankful that I have Lyme.

Well, maybe not thankful I have it but I have prayed for many many years for answers.

Answers regarding my health and how a loving
God would work this for his good.

I'm just trusting that God's plan is much bigger and better than my own, but having a name for the 17 year old monster within my own body is an answered prayer.

Along with the name, I found a family...my LymeNet family.

So THANK YOU - each and every one of you!

For all the usual stuff and people of course.
But mainly my lymenet family. The main characters I can name because of continuous help and inspiration.
Lymetoo
Tincup
Kam
Melanie
But if you are not one of those be assured you are no less important because I do listen and learn a bunch from EVERYBODY! cuz I am--just don--.

This year I'm thankful for the answer to one prayer in particular-Lord, what is wrong with me?-lyme.

I'm thankful to realize that I'm not crazy and that I do have a disease and that I've started treatment after 2 and a half horrible years.

Also, heh heh, I'm thankful for the 2 thanksgiving dinners yesterday and the sugar free pumpkin cheesecake!!!

I know, what a piggie!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to each and every hero on this site!!

I am thankful for my friend who came up and took me out to dinner.

For those lymenet members who have made me laugh, care, share and inform.

For Donna who has lyme and has kept in contact with me for the past two years weekly.

That we are able to see improvement via each others emails.

For Phylis who started keeping in contact with me weekly since last summer and does what she can to help out.

For the in home health care person who comes 3 times a week for a few hours to help out.

For the power chair that was donated to me by a trial attorney with ALS.

For the church I finally found in the area that I look forward to going to when I can.

For all the prayers.

For the stray cat that showed up when I started the IV rocephin. And that he seems to know when I am running really low and doesn't leave my side.

(He ran off when my friend showed up with her dog. I sure hope he comes back)

For those times I am able to be out and about in the power chair or for short walks.

For my lyme doc who has the same goal I have...to get me well and back to work.

That workmen's comp has not been closed yet and there is still a possibility of receiving that and medical retirement income if they can make the connection between myself and the others who came down sick the same time with the same bizarre symptoms and have yet to return to work.

For the roof over my head and that I was able to keep my independence.

For the possibility that I may get a service dog in February although this is looking pretty slim.

For all those people who have driven me to doctor's appointments.

For the person who bought my car and I was able to get enough to pay off the loan.

For those people who helped me move when I had to downsize.

For work staying in touch the past 3 years and also hoping that I would be able to return. It is nice to still have the doors open to be able to return to work.

For the Epsom Salt Baths, Clay Detox, B12 shots, that seem to help.

For those mornings when I wake up with a clear head and able to make myself breakfast and do a little around the house.

For the excedrin extra strength that helps take the edge off.

For those times when I am able to read a novel. (I'm averaging one a year)

For a quiet place to live.

That I am beginning to learn to pace myself and let my body rest.

For Lyme Times, Lymenet, LDA, ILADS, PA LDA's booklet and those who post their success stories.

For the trips to the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Sequoia/Kings Canyon and the coast while I have been battling lyme. IT is good to get out and about and be around nature.

For hope.

Ak said..

"Also, heh heh, I'm thankful for the 2 thanksgiving dinners yesterday and the sugar free pumpkin cheesecake!!!"

OINK OINK OINK!!!

hehehehe

I KNOW!!! Takes one to know one!

I had to eat THREE dinners one year at three places to keep peace in the family!

WHAT A BLOWGUT I was! Ahhhhhhhh!

Your sugarfree cheesecake sounds something like what my sister would do.

She would INSIST on having sweet and low in her coffee.. while she sucked down 2 chocolate eclairs at the local Mr. Doughnuts!

As she would say .. when I blasted her for doing that..

"Every calorie COUNTS!"

KAM..

I read your reply late last night.. just before heading to bed.

It was very calming and nice.

Thank you.
