I am able to lay on my back and use the keyboard to communicate.

But, getting the flyers out to doctor's I have seen in the past is not realistic at this time.

I am hoping that people will read this and get the flyers out for me.

The first person who comes to mind is the Pharmacist Tim with Prime Infusion. I think he or his doctor friend who may have lyme may be interested in this.

Second, I think of the infectious disease docs at UC Medical Center in Fresno. I'll have to get back to you with the address and names. (They have interns from UCSF Medical Center. I was told I didn't have lyme because my unilab test was negative and even if it was positive it is a false positive and there is no lyme in CA)

Third: UCSF Medical Center. Again, the address and names of neuros I saw will come later.

Fourth: Samsun Clinic in Santa Barbara...more info to come later.

Heartfullmommy, I'm working on getting a price reduction for Lyme patients, or at least for support group leaders.

The conference is really for doctors, and offers CEU credits, so is priced within the standar for the area. Just too high for us!

One of my doctors is a member of the association, and the other is speaking at the conference, so I'm hoping I can get us in. If I go, I'll let you all know what I learn.

At this point, we will be happy to add any doctors who can diagnose and treat. The conference has some of our top ILADS doctors speaking, as well as some of the better known alternative doctors, like Klinghardt and Cowden.

There are a large number of alternative M.D.s out here who specialize in treating CFS. If they could get enlightened about Lyme, it would change things big time. I'm guessing they may be more likley to go to a conference like this, than to something put on by Stanford.

Our doctors out here are already overwhelmed, with patients coming in from halfway across the country. We NEED more doctors. This conference ha sthe potential to expose the Lyme issues to a whole new audience.

The Orthomolecular conferences have good attendance, people who might not ever hear of or make it to an ILADS conference. They are well respected out here, so can draw people in based on their history.

Yes, they have some experimental things included. Practitioners, and patients, will have to pick their way through to find out what makes sense.

But with Dr.s Fallon, Stricker, Barkely, and Jones speaking, antibiotic treatment will be well represented.

I just finished "The Politics of Cancer Revisited" by a Dr. Epstein, who suggests that prevention is where we should be focused, and he isn't just talking about smoking. This was very eye opening, and now I see that medical establishment goofs on Lyme disease are not an abberation.

It is just that alternative is so often equated with dubious practices, whether it is or not.

Maybe the west coast is more tuned in to alternatives. I do hope that it helps to get more docs involved in treating Lyme. It is very much needed.
 

I have inserted the location and costs and highlighted them. Believe it or not, this is a fairly reasonable cost for a conference and hotel these days!

The Society for Orthomolecular Health-Medicine (``OHM''), the organization founded by Linus Pauling, is featuring a comprehensive, inclusive program on Lyme disease as one-half of its upcoming annual meeting, Feb. 24-27, 2005, in San Francisco. The conference has been approved for 25 CME credits.

I just had my first re-check yesterday after being on doxcycline for a month, doing well, had a few hexes---wow...anxiety attacks are not fun...never had them before now....but ...what I wanted to say here is, that my doctor told me yesterday that he is going to this conference in San Franciso next week!

He is really looking forward to it, and hopes to come back with good info for his lyme paatients, so I'm excited! Thanks for all the good info here. God Bless, Carol
