I just got my Bowen test result of 1:16, and negative on co-infections.

My symptoms are very consistent with LD (including a spread of musculoskeletal and neurological, low temp, etc.), but the scientist in me would have preferred a more "confident" result of 1:64 or 1:128.

What should I do now? What would you do?

...My nonprofessional opinion; I'd treat based on symptoms alone. Assuming you're not allergic to abx I'd find an oral combo and start asap.

The abx aren't going to hurt you like a case of late neuro lyme will if you let it get out of hand.

I wish I'd made that decision earlier.

Bactrim+biaxin was my best combo, but I waited so long it took me over a year to get pretty much shut of the bugs.

Genie,

See TREEPATROL & TINCUP'S newbie links in medical questions. Print it, check it off as you read as there are months of reading here.

Print off ?Dr. Burrascano's paper .. then you can start to be ready for treatment after reading of your options, etc.

Good luck. Betty G., Iowa and welcome to the board!

I've been here 4 yrs and really don't know what a 1:16 on a Bowen means. Have you had a Western Blot?

I was "borderline" on the babesia test and I herxed from here to Mars and back again on the treatment. So if your 1:16 means borderline, you'd better treat.

I was Lymed in Texas and it ate away at my body for 45 yrs before I was finally diagnosed. A little late, believe me.

Do as fellow Texan "charlie" says and TREAT now, not later. The repercussions of NOT treating far outweigh the downside of treating. [Is there a downside??]

Do you have an LLMD yet? That's a lyme literate dr.

I think that's what she meant, MADDOG. [Lyme] I don't know if that's borderline or what.
