I had to pay for about $1,500-2,000 for Bicillin this summer and I had no idea I could count that off my taxes.

Also, I keep very bad records so can I go to my pharmacy and get a print out of all of that with what I paid?

Also, I had to pay about 1000 for some procedures at the hospital. My insurance covered 80% but I had to get the rest. Is that deductible?

Is there a special form you have to use for medical deductions? I usually use the 1040EZ form. I usually have no deductions. No house or anything.

Yes, the pharmacy can print out your records.

Yes.

Yes, there is a special form. It is complicated enough, I have an accountant do mine. Your medical expenses must be over 7.5% of your gross income to be deductable. That is why you want to deduct everything that is medically related.

It is worth collecting all the info to see whether you qualify.
