Just wanted to share my news...

As some of you know, I am pregnant and have lyme disease and babesia. I went in for my 18 week sonogram, and so far so good. I know I won't know until after the baby is born if he or she will have lyme, but it was still nice to know that everything checks out on the inside!

The doc also said it's a 70 percent chance it's a girl, based on the views they could get. I don't want to get my hopes up too high, but I have a 15 month old son and am hoping for a baby girl! Of course, helth is #1 on the priority list.

Sara,
Oh, that is good news.
I'm happy for you.

I see that your children will be less than two years apart. I had my two boys two years apart, and it worked out great. They grew up very close, although I did feel like the diapers went on forever!

Thanks for sharing your news. I hope you get the little girl you are hoping for.

I have both girls ages 1 and 3 and they are so much fun.

My sister is pregnant and has lyme too..they told her that it is very important to take amoxil while pregnant to make sure the baby is not born with lyme..the amoxil is safe to take during pregnancy and will protect the baby as much as possible from contracting the disease while in the womb.. you may want to check this out asap..my sis is having a girl also..next month. her 2nd.
Melinda
ps.congrats

Thanks everyone

Oh, and not to worry, I have been on 4500/mg of amoxy since a few weeks after I became pregnant. The baby seems to be tolerating the antibiotics well.

I appreciate the kind words.

Hey Sara

I am so glad to hear that!

My son never had a problem and still hasn't so far. So, uncomplicated pregnancies can happen for Lyme sufferers. I still keep a close eye on him for Lyme symptoms but so far, he seems healthy.

Did you see Dr. S yet? I can't remember if your appt was in March or April.

Hi Jill,

Glad to see your feeling better (I read some of your other posts)!

I'm hanging in there. I tested positive for babesia, so I can't treat that during my pregnancy, which unfortunately means staying sick for a while longer.

I see Dr. S the 29th of this month! Finally!!

Glad to hear your son is doing well still, also. My 15-month-old is still healthy and happy as well. I'll let you know how my appt. goes.

Aw man.

My appt is the 28th! It would've been neat if we could have met in person.

Too bad! Well, I imagine we'll both be having plenty of appointments there over the coming months or years. Maybe we can try to make some arrangements...

haha.
