Hi. I am asking this question because husband Steve has been complaining of his "bottom" and legs hurting so badly. He said his lower back and hips hurt so bad that it feels like the bones are going to come through his skin when he sits. He said his legs hurt last night, too, and he couldn't sleep. This has been going on for weeks and he's done nothing to bring this on. Was wondering if it's Lyme-related or something else we should check into.

I have had an aching, dull, constant bone pain. I swear, it feels like it is in the bone. Not the muscle or tissue. My husband has started to complain of this now, too.

It has gotten so bad that I told my husband that I would cut off my arm if I had an ax. Not sure if I 'really' would have - but it hurt so freakin bad, I couldn't imagine living with the pain on a daily basis.

Thank the Lord it has not come back.

I also get severe pain in my legs, knees, arms and feet (sometimes other areas too). Getting up is excruciating. It hurts to go up the stairs. It is like my bones have fused and it is so painful when I have to move them (like moving my leg off the ottoman is very painful).

I also have terrible stiffness that goes along with the pain above. After a few minutes of walking, the pain goes away until I have to sit down, go up/down stairs or am in one position for more than a minute or two.

Hope this helped.

I've had some bone pain...especially in my feet and periodically in rib cage and back.

I think pain syndromes like this are common in lyme, but I really don't know anything about what is going on...is it a subtle bone infection, for instance? no clue.

at times rib and back pain has made me unable to get up off of the ground. last fall for a week I was unable to walk without screaming in pain.

if its bothering your husband that badly he should get it checked out though...you never know for sure if its lyme or something else. this is what really sucks about LD. leukemia, myeloma, bone cancers, other disorders can cause bone pain.

I get this in the long chin bones in my knees, my hips and in my feet.

It cleared up well with bartonella treatment moons ago, but has resurfaced, so I plan on doing more tx for that.

Barotonella loves the feet bones and long bones.

Yes, I have had bone pain on and off for years, of the migrating variety. Arms and legs mostly and hips.

My problems have been mostly in the joints of my hands & feet, but also the bottom of my feet.

Have had many years of Lyme treatment, but none the last 2 years.
Four years ago, treated for Bartonella.
Three years ago, treated for Babesiosis.

Thru the years, several reputable labs had negative results for Babesia.
In 2002, Bowen was the only lab that found I had it. (Maybe strain of Babesia in the South is different.)

During the 3rd or 4th month of Mepron & Zithromax (for Babesia), I had terrible pain in my ankles & feet.
Joints very stiff, soles of feet felt like stone bruises. At times, hurt so bad I could hardly walk.

Cleared up when Babs treatment was finished, so I assumed it was caused by Babesia.

Lately, my hands have gotten worse & my feet have started hurting again.
At times, I hobble around. Other times they're OK. Yesterday was a busy day, & last night - could hardly walk at all.

I thought Babesia was coming back.
Tested again by Bowen a couple weeks ago.
Negative for Babesia.
Still positive for LD (serial dilution 1:32).

Now I'm wondering which is causing the foot problems. Any opinions?

Have an appt Tues.
Any suggestions on abx I should discuss with my dr?

Would appreciate any ideas!

CBB,
just curious~
do you have those enlarged tumor type masses at the base of your toes on the under side of the foot??
I can't remember what they are called, but if they get inflamed they make the whole foot so sore and hurt, you kind of unconsciencely work the foot to avoid the poain, and the causes the pain.??

Is he on any of the abx's fluoroquinolone's??
Levaquin.
I had the deep acheing in my legs, back, shoulders from lyme.

From levaquin my legs hurt right down to the bone muscles hurt too I snapped two tendons from levaquin deep soreness when I would say squat or push off on one of my legs like going up or down steps.

I also snapped a tendon in my calf while that was caused by the lyme.

I dont know if that helped any?

oh ps is he taking b vitamins or complex b vitamins?? The b's make you ache too.

Get some magnesium for him and cq10 and glocsomine.

Really??? I probably missed that somewhere~~
Last Friday one of the docs in the clinic decided I needed a B-12 shot.
Didn't do much of anything except make me a bit more lethargic~~ Sure have some ache and weakness in my hipes today~~ figured it was a cold front what came in last night. ~ who knows
