I don't know what happened. I was feeling better then got hit with a severe depression this last week. I just cant shake it...i know talking in person to other lyme people would hlep me so much.
my llmd is away and i have no one to talk to...i dont have phone numbers of any other lyme people to call who would be able to listen and just be there. other lyme people are the only ones who understand this...my friends and family dont. I feel so isolated this week. Ive been getting treatment for about 8 1/2 months and I thought i was doing better....what a let-down. Can some of you e-mail me off line? I would really appreciate having people who have been through this to talk to. Thank you so much

Hey Olivia,
No doubt it is a roller coaster ride. However, you will get better. Four months ago my son could barely walk, actually used a "walker". Next week he's going back to school, albeit half days. A while back, I wondered if he'd ever get back to school.
Sometimes not treating co-infections can set you back. Have you been tested or treated for these ?

Olivia, Welcome. Are you completley new here?
I deal with a cyclical depression that just smacks me down so hard I can hardly believe that I am the same person. I hate those days. The emotional pain is as bad as the physical pain.
My friends and family don't really want to talk about it. Plus, they don't reallly understand the dynamics of all of this. I do a lot of praying. Don't know how to email you. Sending you prayers . Hope you get relief from this soon. Really empathize. Take baby steps.

I can empathize too. This disease can wreak as much emotional/mental havoc as it does physical. I have been extemely depressed recently for the same reasons--being told I could try reducing meds again (for the 4th time) and relapsing.
It is all very discouraging; I do understand.
I wish you improved health and happiness.
Julie

Thanks everyone i posted when i was first diagnosed a year ago so i amnot completely new. i have a good llmd whom i trust. thanks for the encouragement. yes, the depression is the worst symptom for me too. its the one that just does not go away. antidepressants may help and i am on one. but they dont seem to really get at lyme induced depression. it is so physical for me but makes me emotional. it is hard to explain. it would be better to have a fever or headache or whateve, then my family would be more understanding. but when its depression..its hard for them to see it as a physical symptom. any antidepressants that touch lyme depression? thanks again
