I was diagnosed in 98 by Dr. D with chronic lymes. on Plaquanil/Biaxin for 11 mo, helped a lot. but now I am having real trouble with muscle and joint pain especially around hip area, left side most severe, also balance issues. Sent email to Dr. D, but no response?? Is he still working on the cape? If so can someone give me his contact info, my family Dr. tested me and guess what, he does not agree, so I can't go to him for any help. I appreciate any help you can give, as this is getting worse by the day, and I know I am in trouble. Also if any other cape Docs are Lyme educated I would appreciate that as well. Thanks you so much. artsy

You need to make sure you are tested and treated for babesia too. Could be the missing link.

Just to clarify....the grin was for you, Lisa! I wasn't smiling because lilypod is suffering!
as for patient and diplomatic....comes from teaching for 21 yrs. Gotta be both, or die!

you may want to find a different doc. one in CT or NY...PA has some good ones. get tested for coinfections and treated for them. his protocol helps a few but over time you may find yourself worsening. I went into early Parkinson's before I beat a path to a diff doc, and I am doing very well now.

I know lymetoo..thanks
I agree about finding a new doc. that's what i meant about being so patient..I always open my big mouth in these posts and get myself in trouble.
you definitely need to find another llmd...one who treats all coinfections, before you get sicker. Once bitten said it well..I got even sicker ..many have also..some have been put in wheelchairs etc...
I know i will get blasted from this post, as he does help some, but these posts come up all too often for a reason!!! get out while you can ...find a new llmd...and get better instead of sliding downhill...there is a point where you won't be able to get back up agian...
I know ...let me have it now...
just my opinion folks...

After such a long search for answers I have felt like there is a light at the end of the tunnel in finding Dr. D. Reading some of these responses is a bit disheartening. I hope I'm at the right place.

if the search is up do a search on here about dr. d ..he has been quite controversal for many years...he is 'well knnown around these parts' for not treating co-infections.....
you must make your own well informed decisions ....
best of luck. many of us on here started with dr. d and left after not being treated for coinfections, getting much sicker and then finally making a change...
he's a wonderful man and researcher...do your homework. no one can make this decision for you. YOu have to find a dr. thats right for you.
