Just talked to my LLMD and he told me to stop taking ceftin ASAP. I'm supposed to take a week-long break from antibiotics and then move on to . . . gulp . . . flagyl.

My son just started flagyl with his IV zith. Our LLMD said surprisingly enough, that few of his patients have trouble with flagyl. He doses flagyl at 250mg, three times per-day, three weeks on, and one off.

He also stated that you cannot have any alcohol, of any kind, whatsoever ! Said, you'll feel absolutely terrible. This includes mouthwash, cold remedies, etc.

I meant to reply to your first post on this, but I felt rather ill so I couldnt reply.

THat happened to me: I was able to take antibiotics, had timely on time herxes, etc and then WHAM

each and EVERY time I took a pill, I got ILL.

Consider yeast overgrowth and leaky gut syndrome. It took me a YEAR to figure out what was causing my problems. And the problem transferred with me no matter WHAT antibiotic I went on.

You may need a few good liver detox flushes too.

Thanks for replying guys. The reminder about no alcohol is a good one. I probably would have forgotten about it being in mouthwash, etc.

Our son did well on flagyl too. In fact, he felt his absolute best while taking it and it really knocked his cognitive/neuro symptoms.

As for yeast, I'd slipped a wee bit but started the strict no carb diet again a few days ago. I'll definitely keep an eye on the yeast as it's a big problem for all of my family.

Don't forget hairspray, most hairsprays have alcohol in them and will affect you the same as if you had drank alcohol.
