I am so sorry to hear of all you are going through. I recently was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, so have been doing a lot of reading and research on the topic.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, since I haven't seen all the responses. There is a TV program called dLife and also a website, dlife.com.
The TV program is on Sundays at 6 pm CDT on CNBC. They just started this program in March and have been showing re-runs. It is a half hour show. I was thinking that it might also be helpful for your daughter to see other children that have diabetes. They always have young children in the audience. You can check the following link for a list of the show topics. One was on sexual function, so you would want to know that in advance

I really enjoyed the segment that will be reshown on June 5th with Gary Hall, Olympic Champion (swimming). It is very inspiring.
You can see a 29 second excerpt of that show at this link:

Wishing you and your family all the best!!!
Thank you very much for your thoughtfulness and well wishes for my daughter.. I truly appreciate it..
I will definitely look into the sites you posted...thank you!

Would you edit your thread and break up the long links into 2 lines to correct the thread from going super WIDE where we have to toggle left/right to read?
The other day I posted of Larry King Live, CNN, have a diabetis program about 1 wk. ago w/Della Reese & Morgan Fairchild plus MD on it. You can read the transcript on Larry's site. Good show.

I was wondering if you might post this web address over in medical. Lymebrat, Missy, has an on going post regarding diabetes that may prove be valuable site of diabetes information for others seeking information, in the future. Perhaps it might be helpful if your post is copied over in Lymebrat's current thread that is up to page six last time I checked.
Thanks for posting this web address. I will try and remember to tune in on Sunday's show.
By the way, I am also Type 2 diabetic. There is a lot to learn at first. When first diagnosed, My husband and I ran out and bought hundreds of dollars worth of books on diabetes. I read and reread every single one of them. I even went to the University that I graduated from and checked out nursing books on diabetes.
Back then, the diabetic educator told me I needn't worry about reading so many books. However, I was so overwhelmed and shocked by everything that learning all that I could really brought me to a healthier place quicker. So I understand what you mean when you say that you currently are researching this disease. I have come to learn that knowledge is power.
If I can be of any help, please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]. Best wishes in your quest for wellness.

The Larry King show on diabetes was a really good show. Thanks for posting the time/date or I probably would have missed it.
