Restless Leg syndrome: Someone mentioned it in another thread re a treatment they saw advertised on TV.
Restless Legs Syndrome is an overwhelming urge to move the legs usually caused by uncomfortable or unpleasant sensations in the legs. The sensations have the following features:
Occur during periods of inactivity Become more sensitive in the evening and at night
Are relieved by movement of the limb Often cause difficulty staying or falling asleep, which leads to feelings of daytime tiredness or fatigue
May cause involuntary jerking of the limbs during sleep and sometimes during wakefulness (not the common jerking most people have as they fall asleep)
Up to 8% of the US population may have this neurologic condition. Many people have a mild form of the disorder, but RLS severely affects the lives of millions of individuals.
I gather that none really knows what causes RLS but one logical hypotheseis/maybe even a theory is that it is due to some sort of problem with your spinal cord or nerve roots.
Some people with LD have RLS. Some don't. I had a mild form. I don't now. Quest

I suspect my husband has Lyme and he has RLS. We'll cross the other bridge one day.

I've seen that commercial a few times. I thought it was something else the drug companies made up so we would by their product. I actually laughed when I saw it the first time.

I have RLS as a result of Lyme.
Maybe the 8 % of the population that has RLS has Lyme.

Do not forget that it is definitely a symptom of heavy metal toxicity and chemical toxicity. I used to have it so bad l o n g before I had the tick bite. It left gradually as I started detoxing - probably one of the early departures. I have not had it in years since then.

When I saw the commercial I immediately thought of lyme and then some kind of mineral/chemical issue.
So is the med something to manage symptoms rather then cure the problem?
