Feeling very sad as my Grandmother passed away this morning. I suppose it was her time . . . she was 89 years old and she did live a very full life.
She was the only family member who believed in me when I said I was sick for 21 years, God bless her. Never doubted me, not once.
She had atypical parkinson's and a 7-month-old staph infection got out of control and took her life. I'm guessing it was probably lyme disease due to the rest of the family's environmental exposures, etc.
She didn't suffer very long and I didn't intervene with getting her tested etc. due to others' disbelief in making the diagnosis and also her advanced age. Feeling kind of guilty about that but also think I made the right decision emotionally.
Anyway, no replies are needed, I just felt the need to log my grief. I'm really going to miss her.

I'm very sorry to hear this, BB! Grandmas are such special people!
Keep the blessings in your heart and try not to let the guilt trip ruin you. I have similar feelings concerning my parents.
My dad died from "Parkinson's" and my mother is very ill now. I'm sure both had/have Lyme.

Life is so cruel when it takes from us that which we love. She will always live in your heart and mind.

When loved ones depart they leave heartprints on the soul. Your grandmother sounds like she was a special woman.

Hi birthday buddy.
No amount of being ready for it, or it "being her time" makes it any easier.
Her having that special bond of understanding with you makes it so much harder.
So very sorry for your loss.
Warm thoughts your way,
Michelle M.

I am so sorry for your loss, especially since she was the one person who really believed in you. But I bet if you think real hard you can remember her kind words and strength. That is always, always with you and no one can take it away.
My grandmother slept all day, saw a dark man in the house, was apple shaped and had no hair. She was 97 when she died last February. I believe she had Lyme--but as grand children we have little authority or control over a grandparents medical care.
You did the best you could and she had a long and full life--your grandmother would not want you to have any guilt.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you so very much. Don't know what I'd do without the support of my family here (all of you).

BB, I'm so glad your Grandma believed you about your undiagnosed lyme disease for all those years.

I'll send you some sympathy poems privately.
