Hi - has anyone heard any news about Steve smith, the former football player diagnosed with lyme/als? I can't find anything on line about his condition since 2004

http://www.igenex.com/strength.htm That's an article about him.

There is a Steve Smith with the Raiders at the present time. He is having a great season.

The Steve Smith who was diagnosed with ALS and who has Lyme disease was a star with the Nittany Lions of Penn State.

I haven't seen anything new about him since the article you cited. The same article can be found on the Ilads site: http://www.ilads.org/show_of_strength.html

His PA doctor has made a presentation or two at conferences and meeting in the past couple of years, and may have updated people on his condition.

When I was searching for an LLMD for my husband a couple of months ago, I wrote an e-mail to Frank Bodani. Frank is a writer for the York Daily Record, York, PA, who wrote the original article on July 11, 2004 about Steve Smith which appears on the ILADS website.

I wrote to Frank asking for an update on Steve's condition as a source of information about the doctor who was treating him for Lyme. Frank wrote back promptly and courteously saying that Steve had regressed and was now being treated by Dr. B, whose Guidelines are so famous, in NYC. No other details were given.
