hi all,

i'm begining to sense, from at least one, ostensibly innocuous post, that troll(s) are now engaging people in discussions on various aspects of the diagnosis and treatment of lyme, and other insect/tick-borne illnesses; furthermore that this one post i've read, j-u-s-t h-a-p-e-n-s to be co-incident in time with a post to the board by pmerv announcing current lyme Bills that are up for consideration.

some statements have been made in at least one post i read that seems designed to "suck" us into engaging the troll(s).

if you do not know the long history on the absolutely twisted, psychotic economics and politics of the diagnosis and treatment of lyme, and other insect/tick-borne diseases, don't even think about engaging these people.

statements have been made in at least one post i read that seem designed to "press one or more of your buttons."

best to ignore them...

I agree that, over the years, trolls have gotten much smarter.

Since Lyme patients are, by nature, apathetic, it's not always easy to get our dander up.

On the other hand that's the reason they get away with murder.

Some of the so called innocent questions seem a lot less than innocent to me. The subject matter here is starting to sound as if it's coming from the side who would destroy the very LL.

I try to give someone the benefit of the doubt but I too am seeing some things that stink.

This whole "troll" thing is very disturbing, and I am a little confused.... Am I supposed to know all the ins and outs of this crappy disease that is sucking the life out of me before I post?

Sorry if it seems like I jumped on you guys... My headache hasn;t let up in a couple days, and I am having a sucky day in general... I just hate it when people try to ruin stuff for everyone else.

If suspect a Troll email the moderator about it.

1. The name of post
2. The name of the offender
3. The area in which its done Such as medical, general etc.
4. If you want copy the name of post using copyshortcut and past in your moderator email.

There is an easy and simple way to report a post.

Simply click on the "report post" icon (with the whistle)
which is at the bottom of every post. This will
allow you to send an Alert to all the Moderators
assigned to that Forum and allow us to easily
identify the specific Post/Topic needing review
or action.

Thanks,

to bump the post up to the the top so it doesn't wander off into post-land to be forgotten and unread.

Any troll spotting tips? I'm new and not sure what to look for.

Definitely seen attitude here but what constitutes a troll? [confused]

i doubt serious trolls will bother with any boards until after the holidays.

two times when the come on:

1. when there are lyme Bills up for consideration for passage.

2. when a doc, llmd,or not, or some alt./compl. doc who treats with an extended course of abx, and/or other treatments are being raked through the legal coals.
