I got a yogurt maker for Xmas, thought it was a good idea, since I eat so much of it. My first batch was pretty good, a little grainy on the bottom.
Does anyone else make their own and do you have any hints. I love the Brown Cow cream top, but know that I probably can't aspire to that.
Thanks

Don't know anything about making yogurt, but when I was on round #1 of treatment, I was told to eat lots of yogurt (as everyone else is instructed to do). I ended up getting really sick and having to go to the hospital after my throat closed up following my first bite of yogurt (my boyfriend wasn't sure how to use the emergency kit that the nurses left with me, and I couldn't talk to explain it to him). Anyone else have a reaction like that? I used to love it, now I am scared of it. Posted by mulelover31 (Member # 6266) on :
Hi Janeymae, I make yogurt all the time. I just put it in a cooler with hot water in canning jars and it usually works great. One thing I have noticed is if I use an organic yogurt to start mine with it is a better yogurt. Also if you use whole milk it is alot creamier.
Hope it works well for you. I have saved alot of money making my own and it is so much tastier!
