My son has lyme he started treatment in late November and now I have some symptons too! I have burning in my knees and my arm and pain in my ankles. This burning feeling is weird and it is almost as if my arm is numb. I have an appointment on Feb 6th with the llmd to discuss things. My husband says it is sympathy pains for my son but I feel like something is going on.

Yikes I work full time and do not have time for this!

Amy,

What nasty news! You've just described the symptoms I'm sitting here experiencing right now...and, yes, it is weird.

Not to second-guess your husband, but all the sympathy pangs in the world couldn't produce these symptoms in me.

Thankfully, you've got an appt with the LLMD coming up soon. I'd call the office and make sure they will be able to get you tested as well. Plus, in the meantime, you may want to track your symptoms on a day-to-day basis.

The Lyme Disease Assn. of SE Pennsylvania has a wonderful site wtih a symptom chart you can print.

http://www.lymepa.org/html/ldasepa_useful_information.html

I started filling out the chart each for a month before I had my appointment, and the LLMD found it really helpful.

I am sorry, Amy...But the good thing is that, if you do have Lyme, you're probably getting it early. That can make all the difference.

concerned mom, the stress you've had over helping your sick child is enough to bring the lyme to the surface. I believe many people have it laying low in their body and then something stresses the body and BAM.

Take care, Pam

I wish it would stay low and leave me alone at this point! [bonk]

Oh Amy, I am so sorry to hear this.

Don't know what else to say.
I'm glad you were able to get an appointment with the LLMD.

Hi,

I am sorry that your family is having to deal with so much at once!

I got diagnosed a few months after my kids and I was shaken up as I needed to take care of them.

I have a lot more energy after 9mos abx and it is helping me meet their needs. Also, I pick up on their symptoms and what they need because I have experience same at milder level.

It does get better with treatment.

Hang in there,

Char

Oh Amy, what rotten news. It does sound like you are on top of it and since you have an appointment soon should be improving in no time.

My son and I have been treated at the same time. We spent a lot of time together and are close. This is something that didn't happen with my older well child.

So, it is a mixed blessing. Sometimes we would watch movies together or do puzzles or just hang out. He is back at school this year. I miss him.

Do start taking care of yourself. Stop doing the shoulds and do only what you need to do and want to do. Please conserve your energy. Rest more.

Mel
