I have gained around 40 pounds. I feel really fat.

I would really like to go on a diet but it seems not that important compared to everything else I am doing and going thru to get better.

Honestly, it is a vanity thing. I just don't feel that atractive anymore. Has anyone else tried to diet. Should I just get it out of my mind?

Could one of your medications be part of the problem? I know that when my neurologist put me on Neurontin for the neuropathy, I gained almost 30 lbs before I called it quits and we switched me to something else.

Dieting as such is very hard! I find what works best for me is just cutting way down on things like chips and sweets. I don't eliminate them entirely...that seems to lead to the occasional binge, but if I mostly avoid them and eat a bit more in the way of salads and fresh fruits, the weight slides back down.

My daughter gained 80 pounds, the doc said it's due to the bacteria shutting down the metabolism, and will get better as the treatment progresses. But, she doesn't want to leave the house, she used to weigh in under 100, and was the tiniest her her class. Now, I buy clothes and she has outgrown them a week later.

This disease sucks!

I've unknowingly without reason suddenly gained about 30 lbs several months before my collapse 3 years ago, and I haven't been able to get them off ever since!

ARrrgggh! Never had this problem before until now. Whoa me! Whoa US!

sign me up for this club! uggh. going to get weighed today at my llmd appointment. not going to be pretty.

lately i have been less vigilant about sweets because i have been very stressed out. i make a lot of excuses, but the bottom line for me is to "just say no!"

the other thing is that i have not felt well enough to exercise at all. that's gotta change. gotta go back to walking a bit.

The anti-yeast diet should keep things under control...??? I gain very easily if I'm not on it.

I gained 13 lbs and I refuse to buy new pants. I am on a strick anti yeast..no sugar and no carb diet.

I don't eat after 7:00 pm and really watch what I eat. I have lost 4 Lbs in two weeks. I am

determined to get back to where I was. Summer is comming right? Yes it is a vanity thing and that is

okay. Even if you feel crappy you can look good right?

Anti-yeast diet did wonders for me. Not only did it greatly reduce my joint pain, but I dropped 18 lbs in 2 mths.

I believe now that I was inflamed over my entire body. I always called it bloat. That was the first to go.

My diet is vegan meaning no meat, dairy, sugar. After a couple of weeks, I also cut out wheat because I could see it had a negative effect on me.

Yes it is a hard diet to follow, but yesterday I broke bad and had a piece of birthday cake to celebrate a friend's birthday. Now I am up in the middle of the night with bad joint pain.

Helps me stay on track!

When I relapsed, I gained about 20 pounds in 10 weeks. I was trying to eat to have enough energy to get through the day, and I had cut my activity way back because of fatigue. Inactivity + increased calories = weight gain.

I had tried a couple of times t lose the weight while I was still sick, but it only made me feel sicker.

Once I started feeling better, and my body was not doing the roller coaster sugar ups and downs, I decided once again to start a diet. I increased my exercise (which was easy, because I was increasing my workload teaching dance), and cut back on portions in general and sweets in particular.

I lost the 20 pounds, this time in 20 weeks, and an extra 5 for good measure. And I have kept it off for the past 4 months.

Get better first, then worry about the rest.

I gained weight when I first started having symptoms- being in pain all the time makes it tough to exercise and easy to sit around and eat comfort food.

Prior to finding out I had Lyme I found out that sugar and processed crap made my pain worse. I started eating an anti-inflammation diet and cut out sugar and refined carbs.

I eat low carb but not the popular press version of Atkins as I don't eat bacon or processed fake sugar or replacement foods either. I try to stay with real foods.

I use stevia and ocassionally xyltol. I use ground flax or soy flour if I am making muffins or something like that.

Not only does it help with pain but I was able to drop the weight I gained despite still not being able to run. I sure miss running. I wonder if I will ever be able to run again.

I think sugar free goes a long way to helping keep the weight away. Stevia takes some getting used to. I used Splenda during my transition to stevia.

Neurontin did make me gain, or at least seemed to help me gain. I am on Topomax now for the same symptoms and it seems not to.
