Quotes Wormser, Nowakowski et al and short-term abx as 'good', and in fact says even less antibiotics are needed than the already short courses.
I have neither the time or energy to take him up on this, but perhaps someone else does.

That sucks! I couldn't see where we're able to respond to his statements. He said 85 to 90% of patients were "completely well" after a short course of treatment.
First of all, how do they know that? Did they follow these patients many years down the line?
What about the 15% who didn't recover? I guess that's US! Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :

A lot of people seem to go to his site (not me) so it might be worth trying to educate him. On the other hand, here is a quote from his lyme write up that is such complete bull, maybe it would be a waste of time trying to talk to a person who could write such a thing:
"Nearly all the cases of RA and Lyme disease I have seen have some connection to a traumatic emotional event that occurred earlier in the patient's life. Unless this bioenergetic imbalance is resolved at a deep subconscious level, there is a serious possibility the disease may not improve."
In my opinion the traumatic emotional event IS the lyme and the horrible experiences people can have trying to get diagnosed and treated.
And here is the contact info, maybe best used by people who are already his disciples, and believe his other material:
Jeez, this sounds exactly what the docs at Johns Hopkins have told me last Friday. As for the rest of the problems, they do not have answers.
Secondly, how can they sum all this up based on 3 months of research?? With treatment of early lyme on as little as 14 days of dosage, a person can feel better for a while, yet lyme can stay under and pop up from time-to-time with strange unknown symptoms that seems unrelated until it becomes a full blown case and much harder to treat years later!!
Thirdly, this article is OLD, written 3 years ago...and more new discoveries are happening every day. AMA & CDC need to base their guideline according to latest researches not on old researches and leave it there.

I have received mercola's newsletters for years. Much of his past articles are a culmination of already written materials with originals that he would write now and again.
Over the last few years the majority of his "information" is promotion and marketing of either his books or his products for sale on his website.
He is a successful entrepreneur (dr) who does a good job at promoting and marketing his merchandise. Should this be confused with good medical advise?? I don't think so...jmho

Please explain. Did I miss something here?

I'd joined at Mercola's site and decided to quit when I read this thread. When I quit I was asked WHY I quit and gave my opinion in a comments section. The screen after that gave me a contact link.

Sorry Lymetoo - Sometimes I write my thoughts, sometimes I think them. Sometimes I leave gaps. I'll try to fill in . . .
In my experience and opinion . . . the goal of docs, whether, llmds, internet docs, naturopaths, etc should be the overall health of the patient.
I suppose (doubt) lyme patients could get well by taking a few weeks of antibotics, by adhering to the nutritional standards (buying books, supplements) and by supplementing with the many products available through websites, but is that route the best for the patient?
Many times the path of getting the patient to health(not just lyme) is skewed by a profit incentive, is limited by regulatory licensing requirements or the products that the practioner has access for resale.
Sadly, the increasing #'s of LD/coinfection cases will increase the number of marketing/product opportunities available. The majority will be less than effective. Many are not set up for long term, repeat business. They are a one time separate you from your money setup.
The only thing this has to do with Mercola's site is that he sells products and offers medical information (usually taken from others - with his notes added) generally linked to either the sale of his nutrition books or his products. For the most part he believes that good nutrition and good supplementation = good health.
That may work well if you aren't sick but on this board, good nutrition and good supplementation seem to play a supporting role. Getting the other pieces in place is the goal.
