Has anyone blacked out and taken a fall. I lit a cigarette, had two puffs and I woke up face down on the pavement in front of my dormitory. The cigarette in two pieces still burning. Two friends helped me up and I cannot remember who they were. I have twisted both ancles as I fell from a stair case. Has such a thing happened to anyone else here?

Cigarettes use to make me sick.
You really need to quit--I think our bodies are more sensitive to chemicals and poisens than other people's bodies are.
I quit 12 years ago--one of the best things I ever did.
God bless you, Linda

I am sorry to hear that you blacked out. It never happened to me in the same way, since I would realize I was very weak and would sit down, breathe deeply and try my best to think happy thoughts.
As silly as it sounds, it worked!
And about that smoking habit.........try your best to quit. You will definetely be able to tell a positive difference quickly. I know it is difficult, very, very difficult. But give it all you've got - you are worth it!

I have yet to pass out I have had the tunnel vision that leads to a black out where it is like black walls closeing in on you. I was able to sit down before I passed out. Now falling is a different story......I almost fall while lieing down,,,Ha!

Ouch! I am really sorry. You must be really hurting.
Did you check into the health service there or go to an ER? You probably should have your ankles looked at and have someone check you over.
There area lots of things that could cause you to black out - I don't think smoking is one of them, though I do hope you will quit - and you should have a doctor to talk to about this.
I hope you get the help you need. Please take care of yourself.

Hi Lost.
How's your bloodwork? How's your blood pressure? I have "bad brain bouts" where I suddenly don't know where I am any longer. You just had an MRI which would have ruled out infarcts, stroke stuff, hemorrhages. But what about heart/BP stuff?
Lyme messes BAD with vertigo/dizziness.
An IV in your future might be a tremendous help but I would sure get everything else checked out thoroughly too, 'specially heart/BP issues!
Be well soon.

Thank you all, I am doing much better. And yes, I know about smoking. But walk a mile in my shoes is what I say to people, but then we are all brothers and sisters in LD here; so this excuse does not work. Anyway. I do not know what happened. I do have high BP and MRI showed nothing but multiple round to ovoid foci on both sides of the brain suspicious for MS plaques.
Advise, as usual.

I just got back from a visit to my LLMD, where we discussed my passing episodes of passing out, some of which, I would wake up, and not be able to speak.
I can't get to the piece of paper right now that says exactly what it is, in my case, but he explained it to me as a non epileptic pseudo seizure, one that is common with really sick Lymies.
He wrote it down in doctor talk just in case I wind up in the ER again, but I'm infusing right now and can't really get up to get to the paperwork. (not sure I could read the scribble anyways )
It's a seizure that happens in a a totally different part of your brain than other seizures. (hence pseudo seizure)
