i have been very upset the last two days because of a friend's loss of her son. he was in his late thirties. his wife found him dead on the kitchen floor when she came home from work.
it stirred up a lot of old pain, but now i'm doing a little better and wanted to share with you, my lymenet family.
i feel grateful to be alive. sure, i could have a brain that works the way it used to. i could have "normal" energy. but, the truth is, this is the way it is and it's okay for today because i woke up this morning and the sun was shining and my cats were purring and i had a place to go where people know me.

I'm sorry for your friends loss.
I woke up this morning and read an article about a lyme patient that was a lot worse then me.
So, i decided, ok, so my bladder hurts and i cant sit for long periods of time and cant really walk. BUT, i can see, my vision isnt as bad as it once was. I was hungry so i went grocery shopping, even stopped for gas.
The weather is rather warm and it didnt bother me like it often does, and i didnt get real sick while driving or in the store. I call these days glimmers of hope of what my life will be like once i recover.
Im grateful that part of me still functions and im going to beat this thing no matter what. im grateful that i now have food to eat too.

I'm grateful that the cane that I bought "just in case" is still gathering dust...even if it hurts to walk, at least I still can!
It was a beautiful day today - makes one feel blessed.

Hopeful, I am so glad that my daughter is still alive..It has been a struggle and we have so many issues to deal with but alive is good!!

I'm so grateful that I got Lyme!!
I would not have learned about this disease, would not have met the mother in NC whose child had Lyme, would not have found LymeNet - thus my grandson would NEVER have been diagnosed with Lyme.
He's being treated by Dr J in CT. In fact, he & his parents are in CT for an appt in the morning.
Yes, having Lyme is one of the biggest blessings of my life.

i'm pretty happy about my diagnosis because that's how we figured out my adult daughter had it. she had gotten bit at age 20 or so, treated, but not for long enough. then was a few years later diagnosed with fibro and/or cfs.
the problem with her lyme tx is that she really can't tolerate atx. had iv for a while. tried hyperbaric. everything has helped a little, but nothing more than that.
she knows why she has felt so lousy for so long. that's important.
are there any other people who wish to share?

I'm grateful for:
. finally getting more diagnosis telling me what specifically is wrong with me and why I'm not getting better on my 2 abx and yesat pills.
. my loving husband of 31.5 years who married me for better or worse and in sickness and in health.
. I was misdx for 35 years and on lyme tx for almost 2 full years in Aug.
. I'm NOT losing my mind; actually it left before I arrived. LOL
. No, I know how serious losing the mind to Alzheimer's or dementia is. My late sister-in-law, died at age 40, yes 40, on 315-93 from this mindrobbing disease that she had for 8-14 years.
. Glad, I can still get up daily and dressed. Run a few short errands in town.
. Be on internet and especially the lymenetboard for hours learning and supporting my friends. I sure would miss you all if this board went bye-bye!
. Grateful hubby and I saved for a rainy day, as we have been having some heavy rains lately.
. Thankful I have my eyesight to enjoy the beauty of outdoor flowers, trees in bloom, etc.
. It's great to be alive even though we all have many restrictions.
. Grateful I'll get to attend my niece's graducation and reception. My late sister died 8-25-99 at age 41 of brest cancer in the liver. She missed seeing both kids graduate.
. Grateful last week my niece came to my home and asked me to help pick out her graduation cards with her 2 photos on it, and I assisted getting the info on there & large enough for us senior citizens.
. I'm grateful for my close friends who I open up too. I'll stop; I could go on.
