I remember reading posts like this one back in 2000. I remember thinking what a bummer. Now I am a 2 time loser with all the symptoms. I did have 5 pretty good years. I am off to the Lyme Doc next week, a 750 mile round trip. There are no Lyme Docs in Indiana. Anybody tell me what the drugs of choice are these days? If you wonder about my name, I am a retired Conservation Officer.

Hey Warden, at least you'll have the consolation of knowing your not the only relapse case on this board. There's plenty of those folks to go around.

Lyme doc's are much more aware of co-infections now, often the culprit in stubborn or relapsing cases. IV's are pretty commonly used as well. Supplements and herbs play a much greater role and really aid in recovery.

Here's the new treatment guidelines from Doc B. for your reading pleasure. Don't be a stranger.

So sorry to hear this.

But you are smart to know what is up. Many would be in denial.

I agree about coinfections and the info you were given.

Don't forget lots of probiotics.

Welcome warden; I thought of a prison of course! [bow] You and Treepatrol should get a long great; he's got an outdoorsy type of job too!

By PM, private message, I'll send you my newbie links which includes TREEPATROL'S huge newbie links, etc.

Glad to have you onboard; good luck on the trip; my 500 mile roundtrip did me in. [Big Grin]

Warden
Welcome to this board. You are not alone. Many of us have relapsed. But know that with treatment we can and do make progress forward and many people actually feel well!

I am not one of those just yet, but am working toward that end. Abx, supplements, alt therapies etc. you have to find the combination that works for you, but coinfections add difficulty to the recovery mix. So get those treated first, once rid of them, lyme is easier to treat (speaking from personal experience here).

Just curious, did you contract Lyme On-the-job?

I am substantially better this year than where I was last year, though I have symptoms again.

Good luck with your LLMD, you are not alone.

Hey, post your lyme story on our site, www.lymeleague.com

And keep us posted on your progress!
