Hey guys- as you know there are many LLMDS in Florida and I am headed to Charolette, NC and need help finding a hotel. I am staying for 2 weeks and I can't find an extended stay hotel or discounted hotel. Does anyone have any ideas of where my mom and I could stay? I am 23 and the Ronald McDonald house cuts off at 18 years old.

It is going to cost us thousands at a hotel
Thanks so very much in advance for any help.
God bless
heather

Do you have an RV or a friend who would loan you one? There are campgrounds in the area.

Try looking for a condo. We had to stay in FL for surgery, 3 weeks twice. We got a beautiful condo for 1/2 the price of a hotel.

Try looking on Craig's List.

Are you lookin in Florida or Charlotte? If it's Charlotte, try contacting Dr. J's clinic. I believe they are based in Charlotte.

Have u contacted the specific RMH directly?

I know the one where we stay in CT for Dr. J appointments allows adults if there is space available.

Most of the times we have stayed, there have been on average of 3 or more adult patients utilizing the facility.

You might contact them directly to determine if they may also do that!

Good luck . . .I know very well how expensive traveling for treatment can be [Eek!]

Hostels are very popular in Europe. For about $25.00 a night you can stay at a decent place. Here are four in North Carolina. Good Luck.

When we travel to see my husband's LLMD, I always use www.hotwire.com. We stay in a lovely Holiday Inn conference center, 12 stories, beautiful room, that would usually cost $129. We pay between $31. and $33. per night using Hotwire.

They book extra rooms that would probably not be used, but they show you the rating, and even possible brand name of the hotel, and the location before you book. You will not know the exact hotel name until you book.

I used to be afraid to "take my chances" using this because of not knowing exactly which hotel until I had already booked, but we have used it for 15 or more bookings now to various locations, and we have never been disappointed with any of the accommodations. Their rates on rental cars are also good. You can book package deals where the flight and hotel, or the hotel and car, etc. are booked together, but you need to check, as sometimes it is less expensive to book the two services separately, both on Hotwire.

Good luck, and have a wonderful trip.

Nancy

P.S. We are also from Florida. Did you really mean to say that there ARE many LLMDs in Florida? You might want to edit your post so as to not mislead people if this is not what you had intended to say. Just click on the small pencil and paper symbol at the top of your post. It's easy to do.
